An incredible game.

I've tried the demo of this and I just don't get all the fuss about it. Seems to be alot of running about for not much gain. Am I missing something here?

Hot deal though.

I haven't played the game but the people that have say that the demo is terrible at showcasing what the game is actually about. You are supposed to work from the ground up, literally starting with nothing, killing small creatures and working your way up to bigger gear and bigger monsters.

It is very much a marmite game but definitely worth a look in at £24.99.

Oh so it's like an RPG game, that seems pretty cool to build up from nothing.

I'm not an RPG gamer but there's always some exceptions.

I played on the 3DS. It's very tough but very rewarding. I found myself addicted to replaying quests over and over again to find that next piece of armour I wanted.

As many have said there is a demo, that might not represent the game as a whole, but gives you a good idea of what to expect from the combat and mechanics.

I wanted to get this game but the demo put me off. Which is a shame. Apparently the Wonderful 101 demo was bad, too, but I like the game! They should really make demos representative of the game!

The 3ds xl version with a circle pad pro is the best way to play the game in my opinion. I really struggled with it on my wii u mainly because of having the two screens for apart ( looking up then down, then it got tiresome). 3ds is perfect for it but obviously that isn't an option for everyone. Ignore the demo it doesn't scratch the surface of the game.

Got monster hunter 4 pre ordered ;)

You can play with the Wii U Pro Controller or a Classic Controller connected to the Wiimote, so it's not really required to play exclusively with the bulky GamePad at all times.

surprised by the lack of the usual "not buying until nintendo link purchases to account only" posts.

It's a great game.

Was torn between this and Wonderful 101 for the Mario Kart 8 promo. Went with W101 in the end and didn't regret it but have been waiting a long time for this to drop. Thanks OP.

Damn I'm tempted by this as I really wanna play it and I'm not interested in the 3DS version (Monster Hunter 4 is out in Feb for the 3DS think and is not coming to Wii U) but really I want the disc version which is £39.99 at the cheapest! I was kinda hoping the eshop price drop would drive down the disc version....

Great game, I managed to get a new copy for £35 just before Christmas, I'm looking now but Zavvi, GameCollection etc seem to be completely out of stock now.

Wonder if Nintendo will make a habit of pushing the digital route with these kinds of offers rather than short runs of reprints like they used to?

I struggled to get into this game and I really wanted to get into it - I think it's a time thing (I have two young children, I have no time). The street price of the physical game is stubbornly high though, which meant I could still trade it into Amazon for nearly £30.

This is not a Nintendo game, it's published by Capcom and if they don't feel like doing reprints then they won't and given that there's the eShop digital version then even less of a reason to do so.

Capcom apparently couldn't release/dev Street Fighter V without Sony's help so that tells ya how bad their situation is.

Good luck finding the space on your Wii U to actually download the game.

You can use an external HDD or a USB (or even an SD Card connected to a USB stick but you can't connect the SD Card directly to the Wii U as it only work with the Wii Mode and Smash Wii U).

Am I going blind? I can't see this on the Web version of the store or via the console? Only 49.99?

You should be able to see it on the Wii U EShop homepage. I think it's about 1/3 of the way down on the right hand side. Are you based in the UK?

Picked up for £29 (used) on eBay. Really interested to see what it's like.

hmm well I've logged onto one, yesterday I could buy MHU3 on there for 49.99, However, this evening went to the store via the WiiU and tapped the New Year Savings button at the top and found it straight away... downloading now!

You probably saw the American EShop web browsing page ;-) .
