amazing price for monsters inc and wall-e, never seen those two that low.

Isn't Monsters Inc only officially out today?
#4
Gutted.

I took up this offer when it was announced on pre-order a few months ago. In fact, the blu ray arrived on my doorstep on Saturday. Paid £13.98 for it from the exact same company. Surely i can get my £2 back?! It only bloody came out today.

Yes we should, under the pre-order price guarantee. I've actually sent them an email, but it looks like I really didn't need to:

Pre-Order Price Guarantee

Amazon.co.uk's price for not-yet-released items sometimes changes between the time the item is listed for sale and the time it is released and dispatched. Whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, software or video game, the price you will pay will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.co.uk between the time you place your order and up to and including the release date. Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to items displaying the Pre-order Price Guarantee offer ("Offer") message on their product detail pages. Items that do not display the Offer message do not qualify, regardless of the nature of the items.

Please note that our Pre-Order Price Guarantee applies only to items sold by Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.uk's Preferred Merchant, Indigostarfish.com at the website www.amazon.co.uk and not to items (or prices) offered by third party sellers on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace or at any of Amazon.co.uk's Trusted Partner sites, or from Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca or Amazon.com or any of its affiliates.

If your order enters the dispatch process before the release date and the price is lowered on the release date, we will automatically refund the difference between the price you were charged and the release-date price. Terms and Conditions apply

Left you some rep for that! Thanks for noting this. The thing is, my order arrived before release date....

I still think you should be OK according to that wording. I'm expecting mine this morning.

Mine was a strange one. I ordered it on May 13th. And last Thursday, i got an email saying my card details were wrong and if i could change them. So i changed them on Friday, and the blu ray landed through my door on Saturday....from Jersey? That was a bit quick i thought and i wonder if they had dispatched it before even taking the money...

edit: Just received an email from Amazon UK.

Dear Customer

Thanks for writing to us about the recent price change on "Monsters, Inc. [Blu-ray] [2001]". I recognise you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Please note that we do not extend a post-order price guarantee.

I've reviewed your order and see that the price change was significant and you just received this item from us. Under the circumstances, I'll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of 2.01 GBP.

Please understand that I'm issuing this refund because of the exceptional circumstances, and I'm doing this for you against our standard policy.

****WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A PRICE GUARANTEE?****

While we don't always beat the best available price on every product, we do offer deep discounts on many thousands of items. From time to time, prices on some items will change due to special offers from suppliers and manufacturers or our inventory and sales volumes. When we can offer a lower price for new purchases we will, but we cannot extend these discounts to completed orders.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.co.uk. We look forward to your next visit.

I actually own Wall-e and Sleeping Beauty and can tell you that Wall-e is a technical masterpiece, a simply stunning piece of cinemetography, just a great film, and Sleeping Beauty, while the film is definately not my favourite Disney cartoon, the conversion is breath-taking, the colours and quality is amazing. Also I'll definateley consider getting Monsters Inc. I loved the film and remember bein wowed by the visual quality, especially with the hairs on sulley's coat, so to watch it in high def should be even better. Thanks, heat added!!

Just ordered, heat added.

Been waiting to see if it was going to come down a little more from the £13.99 price after release

Great price, especially being that Disney stuff never seems to get discounted very well. Think I’ll be getting Wall-E at that price.
#13
Monsters Inc. is Pixar's best movie IMO. Great deal.
#14

Agreed! Also, there's a 3 disc version of monsters inc around: http://www.amazon.com/Monsters-3-Disc-Blu-ray-Billy-Crystal/dp/B00168OIOE

No doubt the third disc will be a 'digital copy', I just hope the UK gets at least a 2 disc version too. Gonna wait for that or get an import if region free. Love this film.

The version on amazon.uk is the 2 disc edition, inspite of what it says

Just to prove that Amazon were true to their word on pre-order price guarantee, I got this email this morning:

Monsters, Inc. [Blu-ray] [2001]
Price on order date: £13.98
Price charged at dispatch: £13.98
Lowest price up to and including release date: £11.97
Amount to be refunded: £2.01
Quantity: 1
Total Savings: £2.01

£2.01 is your total savings under our Pre-order Price Guarantee.

Because we reduced the price of your pre-release title between dispatch (when we charged you) and the release date, you will automatically receive a refund for £2.01.
#20
On the subject of a 3 disc US version, just be aware that I have read elsewhere that such digital copies can't be activated outside US territory - whether this would apply to a 'region free' version, I'm not so sure....

Thanks. Can anyone else confirm this?

The prices are so good on these that I am seriously considering buying both Wall-E and Monsters Inc, despite already having them on DVD, despite not having a HD TV or Blu Ray player and despite still looking to buy our own house to put them all in. Oh well, the price is good.....
All things come to he who wait...... :)
#23
Its only £11.99 on HMV now (was £13.99 yesterday I think), so I'm gunna buy it there because I found a £10 HMV gift card in the house yesterday :-D

Are these prices available in store as well? Just asking because you won't be able to use a Gift Card on line...which is the problem I'm stuck with. Going to buy Cars, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc and Wall-E but only if I can get them at this price on my Gift Card.
