Amazing price, reviews look nearly perfect too!

Good for chicken breast fillets? I suck at cooking so something like this would be ideal... 8)

You can cook loads of things in slow cookers - have a look at the kindle store for some ideas - there are some free books on there - I have put the books in order so free books come up first http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_st_price-asc-rank?keywords=Slow+cooker&qid=1405357002&rh=n%3A341677031%2Cn%3A341689031%2Ck%3ASlow+cooker&sort=price-asc-rank&tag=ho01f-21 just have a look through see if any are any use to you.

thank you for the books, I need inspiration. Love my slow cooker, but doesn't get the use as much in summer.

Just got the warehouse one for about £13, thanks a lot. Going to uni for a masters in Sept so no doubt this will be very handy.

I still had the above stainless steel version set up as a price alert on camel camel so hope this has helped a few

can you cook rice in this?

To cook rice in a slow cooker:
Sorry about the measurements but this is from a cookbook:
2 cups water
2 tablespoons butter - stops it sticking
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 tablespoon dried parsley
2 tablespoon
Stock cube to flavor
1 cup rice

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker, mix well, cover, Cook on HIGH 2 hours or until rice in tender

For variation you can add peas etc during last 30 minutes of cooking.

The instruction book for this slowcooker is here it does show some recipes although not rice: http://www.morphyrichards.co.uk/Pdf/IB48710.pdf

This is one of the dishes that can be done in slow cooker, by why on earth would you if the same can be achieved with 10 minutes and a pot?

I had to look it up, but as someone was asking and I knew I had seen it in my book I thought I'd reply :)

I don't think I would personally do rice in a slow cooker, that said you can do risottos in them and as that is a meal in itself I suppose that could tip it in its favour, slow cookers can be fantastic at just throwing things in and leaving them whilst you carry on with other things, I love doing vegetable stew and dumplings in mine in the winter :)

Hassle-free cooking is a big plus of those, we don't eat much meat in the house but throw some veggies, spices and stock cube, go out for entire day and come back to a nice curry. :)
