I was looking for a slow cooker and the Morphy Richards one seemed to be coming out on top...what's even better is that it's reduced from £49.99 to £22.50 on Amazon which I think is fab for such a good make!

This is a really good slow cooker. I have just bought myself another one of these (the old one fell off the shelf!) and the original replacement was nowhere near as good. Great deal.

I've had this slow cooker and it's been used twice a week for the last 5 years, so can vouch for the quality.....hot from me.

Just bought this for the old dear for Christmas (along with ne of those recipe books). Cheers for the heads up. Heated

Just spotted I had a big space at the back of kitchen cupboards, this will fill it nicely. Cheers OP.

I have one of these and it is a good slow cooker.

However - there is one minor fault with these . The plastic shroud attached to the handle on the top of the lid WILL crack even with light use and break up. If you call customer services over the first few months they will send you a replacement knob and shroud FOC. I suggest that you do this twice over the warranty period so that you have a spare.

I replaced mine once whilst it was under warranty and wish I had got another one as the second is now broken. The fault must be fairly common as they are even listed on ebay by Morphy Richards themselves.

Ha - just checked this and you will see the listing if you run a search on a famous auction site for 'Knob and skirt' - genius!

Great deal. I've had this slow cooker for a year now. Bought it after reading the Which? reviews and really glad I did. Would recommend, especially now winter is almost upon us. Well spotted

I'm wondering if there is actually any difference between brands/models of slow cookers. After all, not exactly a complex machine - a low power heating element and a switch. We had one of these, yes the plastic shroud did break, I blamed SWMBO for putting it in the dishwasher. Best she doesn't read this.

You bought your wife a slow cooker for Christmas? Wow, I bet you get loads...

Old dear refers to my mother!! Not sure where you are from, but "getting loads" from your old dear doesn't sound right to me....

I've got a slightly smaller one of these and I gave up on it as it always burnt the food - the low heat setting just wasn't low enough.
Can people confirm that this model can be left overnight without burning the house down or producing a charcoal dinner?

I received mine today and in the manual it states they're designed to be used during the day-say put food in in the morning and it's ready by late afternoon/evening meal time-I don't think they're supposed to be used so long as overnight. It says cooking time is 4-8hours?? hth x
