Surprised this hasn't received more heat, as It's surpassed the 2GHz and 160GB hard drive size that most models at this price range have.

Also uses the current Intel 4500 graphics chip (still poor) instead of the X3100. So is a proper DirectX 10 chip for Vista Aero.

Personally I would not like to vote either way until I can get some info about the specs of the chip included. From the little research I've just done it appears that this chip is somewhat of a myserty chip in terms of exact specifications (no info has been released by intel themselves about it).

I'm sure it would be perfectly usable but personally I wouldn't like to spend the money on something which I am even partly unsure about.

Don't you mean "ne1 hu's mum dusnt buy a new aluminnium macbuk 4 dem" as you're obviously 14 or under.

Hey hey hey. No need for ageism in this thread. Just because he seem's moderately illiterate doesn't necessarily mean he's a teenager.

Just been having a quick search around about the CPU, and now confused.

Either the advert for Morrison's had a typo, or the wrong model number was provided on this deal post, or it's a modified part number for Morrison's.

The newspaper advert I saw listed 2.1GHz CPU, but Toshiba spec page for a L300-1AQ only mentions a 2.0 GHz T5800.
Toshiba spec sheet L300-1AQ

Anyway details about Core 2 Duo range to save people searching.
Intel mobile T5xxx series processor specs (in German, but column details obivious)
Wikipedia processor list that includes T5850 and T5850
Intel link for T5800 specification (should it be this model provided)
CPU World link for T5850 specification (should it be this model provided)

If it's the correct model number it's the same as this one:

Well found mate, thanks for the info. rep added.

I think it might have to be a typo if the intel specs say 2.0ghz.

seems like a pretty decent chip actually. voted hot.

Now that weve figured its not 2.1Ghz, just to let u know, at the end of the day its from the T5 series of laptop processors. From what I can only think.... Its been clocked to 2Ghz to make it sound good. I havent been looking recently but I'm sure there was a T9 series out by now if not further!

Try to get something T7 plus eg. T7250, more efficient and, will in the long run, prove to be faster.

About the graphics.... Vists is a shame! My laptop is not the best, but its got an 8600 nvidia card with 256MB dedicated, still only gets 4.7 on the Windows Aero Index.

Enough about that! At the price.... You cant go wrong!! I still see Celeron processors at that price? Might aswell go for a centrino!

Definately worth it for children or people who need it for browsing the web and work.

Lol. I had the EXACT same thought when reading that.

Toshiba are so so poor. Cheap, plastic, and poorly built.
To be honest, the price is only just "reasonable" for this machine.

Check the box the one I looked at was only 1ghz not 2ghz.

Mine is 2GHZ and 250GB Hard drive

It most definitely wouldn't have been unless you were looking at something other than the CPU speed.

Oh, some are, but some are just as bog-standard as these. I'd still navigate outside of HP, Samsung or Apple though unless I was going for a netbook where there's no big difference between them.

ONLY 4.7? You know that that is good right?

The performance index is not only based on the gpu, but also chip, ram and hard drive performance.

*EDIT

or were you quoting ONLY the gpu rating?

if so its still not that bad....

Lol, well here they are....

Processor - 4.9 (T7250)
RAM - 4.8 (2GB unsure of clock speed, I purchased it some time back!)
Grahics - 4.7 (8600M 256MB)
Gaming Graphics - 5.2
Hard Drive - 5.3 on 5,400 RPM! (I think)
#35
Gigzz - 5.9 is as high as it goes

=)
