Why don't they do the staples like whisky/fags/curry and a twelve pack of lager.

Surely the fact that the stock clears quickly means that it's a very good offer? :-D

I know that Gammon ham from the deli will be on offer - 50p per 100g (400g limit though!) and Oven Fresh has 3 sausage rolls for 50p also :)
Not sure what else it will be though, sorry!

The one in Shepherds Bush has improved since it was a Safeway. But it's still rubbish compared to the mighty Waitrose

In my area I can easily report that Morrisons is one of the least "trampy" stores in the town, here is my premiership league of trampy stores from trampy to vampy ... greeting pop pickers!!

TESCO absolutely trampy (complete with town beggar) unstocked shelves and a general high level of "pissy panted" bargain seeking pensioners slowly ambling up and down the aisles seeking (out of sell by date) bargains that generally are pretty low key.

ALDI: generally well stocked and clean with some pretty good bargains, unfortunately no way you could get a weekly shop to satisfy anyone in this particular shop.

LIDL: great selection of continental foods which if you fancy having a change from the dreary UK grub is of a very high level of quality and taste, great seclection of fresh fruit and veg to boot.

ASDA: great selection of varied ready made produce that is of a pretty high standard, only let down by the very poor quality of any of their fresh fruit and veg that really does take the shine off the shop completely ...

MORRISONS: great selection of fresh fruit and veg. also very good selection of cold meats and fish etc. anything you buy here is pretty much ready to eat and will last a good few days after purchase. Only let down by the very poor butchers department that everybody seems to stear well clear of ...

Tesco is so much better than Morrisons, I hate them, such horrible storers, also someone posted on here it was cancelled the other week with all the BBQ stuff, so I never even bothered to go and check.

Where I live there's an Ex-Safeway Morrisons and a pretty new Tesco Extra and Morrisons absolutely humps it for anything fresh.

Apart from that I prefer Tesco though. There's an Asda, Aldi and Lidl too but the three of them are only ever any good for the odd good offer here and there.

I used to feel Morrisons was a bit 'trampy' too, but a lot of that came from poor infrastructure and management of the takeover of Safeway. When it first changed hands, most ofthe fruit and veg looked old, the place rapidly looked dilapidated and the deals didn't seem all that amazing. But they seem to have turned it around completely. I muc prefer my local Morrisons to my local Sainsbury's. Mostly because of the price though!

Oh the crassness of youth.
I know its only the young that have to go shopping, living on a fixed income, and yes we are slower, and some may smell!!
But maybe -just -maybe you may make it to a senior age, if someone does not murder you, and then perhaps you will remember your comments!

The one near me in Bognor sells excellent meat and most is put together in store.
#20
Our Morrisons is far better quality (of staff also) than Tesco, if you r eally want to see trampy go to Asda in Shoeburyness!! Chav city.!!
#21
I love morrisons...not trampy at all!!
#22
IMHO the league table of the big chains in terms of shopping experience and thus clientèle is (from top quality to at your own risk (!!));

Waitrose, M&S, Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Somerfield, Co-op (just acquired Somerfield!), Netto, Aldi, Lidl.

I am not at all pre-judging or endorsing any one over the other. I happily shop in Netto, M&S and Tesco, meeting my all round requirements of price, quality and choice!

CHEERS!
