Voted HOT!
Sugar price isn't the biggest deal though, it would seem to be 88p most places at the moment.
They didn't have the 'Heavenly Red Velvet Cake' on offer too did they? :| Only tried it once when it first came out a few months ago ~ mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... <3

How exactly will that happen if supermarkets aren't paying a fair price? I'm sure farmers would rather get paid a decent amount for their produce rather than receive subsidies.
Who are you expecting them to compete with, other countries with poorer welfare standards?

well its inevitable. If the government provide subsidies then business just pushes the price down to nullify them. Same thing that will happen if they subsidise energy costs.

Okay Ill pay £1.40 a litre so my farmer can buy another new tractor, small farmers need to get competative to sell via other avenues which can sustain higher prices.
No sympathy for them....
Even the small farmers I have come across typically drive a new Mercedes and live in big country houses with 200 acres. (that's a small farm)
No one disagrees that farming is hard work, but the rewards and lifestyle are surely better than stacking shelves or flipping burgers for a pittance.
No sympathy here.
At the end of the day we consumers have choice.
You can choose who to buy your milk from and thus where it is sourced. Exercise that right and stop whining.

I'm sorry you don't seem to value the UK dairy industry, it's not the difference between farmers buying a new tractor or not, if something isn't done many farmers will go out of business as the pricing is just not sustainable.
Part of a full page ad in today's Sun newspaper. Should be nationwide. Morrisons doesn't have a 'proper' website, like Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco, etc., where you can go and search for any particular item, in order to find a hyperlink to offers seen in newspapers, tv ads, etc.

Thanks for the clarification, Lowrieh1.
