Do these chickens live in their own little houses and live a long and fulfilling life before dying of natural causes?

wow man, chicken everyday for a whole month of my life.

Bought 1 of these from Asda before and it still had it's stomach in it - not nice. Hot deal but food for thought so check before you tuck in!
#8
Good deal for a cooked chicken

Are these defo the cooked ones?

There was a thread a while back, which unfortunately was hijacked by the Save our Chickens bridage, about cheap cooked chickens in Tesco. They turned out to be COLD ones!

This is cheap considering how much it costs to cook these wee guys, never mind fatten them up.

Voted HOT

HOT........more cruely raised, poorly paid farmer, battery chicken deals. A +9 heat from me as it IS a deal for those who need to feed the family in these very tight times

We used to buy these all the time from Asda, until a few month ago when I just finished eating some of it & lifted it off the plate to see its brain hiding underneath! knocked me sick & haven't touched roast chicken since. Must be an Asda thing?:x

not everybody prefers a tough carcass meat from very old chickens which had a long life before dying from natural causes.... :whistling:
but it is a question of personal preferences.

1/ How did you know it was it's brain? The brain is like 90% water and would have all but evaporated in the cooking process had it been there in the first place.

2/ No chicken is sold after slaughter with the head intact.

3/ Why would the brain 'hide'?

Yeah and the 'my £2000 bike is better than your £50 bike' brigade are strangely silent today too. Do they take Sundays off perhaps? Have they all gone to the seaside with Mummy and Daddy now school has broken up? We need to know!

Ahhh! Just found 'em all getting all excited at the M&S Oakham chickens thread - obviously can't manage two at once!

By all accounts these are very special chickens.....

As well as having TV's and PS3's they are also ninja trained and are allowed (every three days) to undertake group foxhunt activities.

These activities consist of groups of 5 chickens working as an assault team to attack and destroy Fox dens, the chickens of course are incredibly honourable animals (having been trained in Chicken Ninja School) and believe in the mantra 'No Chicken Left Behind'. As such they ensure that any chicken killed in one of these assaults is brought back home, it's only one of these recovered chickens that is then released (after a long and highly secret ceremony) to Supermarkets for cooking. The chickens see this as the highest honour that can be bestowed upon them and the names of chickens dealt with this way are whispered with pride amongst the chicken community.

So remember as you eat your chickens, they died in the service of their own, they died with pride and they are keeping Fox numbers in check.

wow, gonna get me some chicken, some hot sauce, thursday is gonna be great!
#34
Have bought these several times but have to say I found them rather disappointing, very tough and chewy with lots of bits of sinew in them. Tescos and Asdas much nicer, however very good price if you're not fussy.

I've bought extra tasty chickens from Morrisons in the past and never had that problem:w00t:

Nasty meat for fat, legging wearing, unemployed women to feed to their multitude of grotty children in the equally grotty council estate where they live for free. Get a job and buy some nice meat.................

shame on you all buying cooked chicken at a bargain price, please please think before you do - I am working late on Thurs and you greedy carnivore's will buy the lot! as above, never had a problem with chicken from morrisons, find it much better than tescos, not tried asda, mind you, cant beat a KFC ! hot!
