Morrisons are particularly good for Veg these days - I got a bag of onions, bag of spuds and a bag of carrots for £1.50 - Still working through them!

Never understand how these fruit & veg deals get so much heat when it's always this price or less on the local markets!

Market stall prices and quality vary massively between areas.
With a supermarket your almost guaranteed the quality and price is the same across the country.

If practicable grow just one plant well this year and you will have a decent supply. They are very prolific.

This is very true, and they turn into humongous great marrows in the space of a day or two.

I was surprised to find you can make cakes with them too. Lost the recipies now but made some very very nice lemon drizzle cakes and chocolate cakes. I suppose I shouldn't have been that surprised as carrot cake exists. Recipies call for courgettes often but I found 'big courgettes' (say 3 inch diameter 6-7ish inches long) equally good.

Pick em small (ie tiny) you'll get all the flavour concentrated and you needn't let any grow to marrow proportions

Yes, I release that. My point was that they grow to be huge quickly, so you need to keep an eye on them.

Totally agree can't beat morrisons for quality and value lately. Best of all if anything is cheaper elsewhere you get the difference back in points.
