Morrisons Diesel down to 99.9p per litre from tomorrow £0.99

£0.99 @ Morrisons
Morrisons will drop the price of diesel to below £1 from tomorrow. I am assuming this is across the country but I am not sure! Unleaded will remain at 88.9p.

It is about time the price came down as we have been ripped off for far to long!!

Let hope the Gas and Electric prices start coming down too!!

Can confirm that in Byker, Newcastle the board is now showing 99.9p for diese!
#9
This will be a red hot deal if it is true, even though it is only a few pence reduction. Can't believe the 14/15p difference between diesel and petrol being charged elsewhere, what a rip off.

I totally agree, I'd love to see a graph over the last 10 years showing the oil price against Diesel. I'm sure when the Oil price was last at $40 a barrel we weren't paying over a pound for a litre of Diesel.

I think were being taken to the cleaners by the Petrol Stations and the Energy Industry.

#13

#14

#15

#16

i really do hope unleaded drops big time! im 23 years old & finding it kinda hard as its 93.9 @ sum palces where we r!
#19
I used to work for a morrisons filling station, pity i left or i'd have access to find out if this was indeed nationwide
#20
Brilliant! Not near a Morrisons but hopefully others will follow their lead :) Bought a diesel as thought it would be more economical, maybe now it will be! Thanks!

http://www.petrolprices.com for those of you that haven't heard of this site, it's worth bookmarking :)

Spotted in Hastings, East Sussex so looking good for nationwide! :santa:
#22
yay bout time they lowered it. still ripping us off but its a step in the right direction. im sure all the other supermarkets will follow suit.
#23
Spooky. I called into Morrisons tonight (Sun) for some shopping and they had just closed so thought I'd fill the car up with diesel (was already half full anyway) whilst I was there. I pulled up at the pump and it was out of order for diesel. I couldn't be bothered waiting and glad I didn't now!
#24
Its about time Diesel came more in line with petrol. With fuel now lower in demand you would think they would supply more diesel? Still 15p difference here.

104.9p at my local BP down the A3 near Wisley. Sainsburys wasnt cheaper than that near Guildford.

Still 104.9 is better than 133.9. Thats nearly 25% lower in a few months. Shame it took the economy with it.
#25
oil price now $45 a barrel peak $150 thats a 70% reduction.i know we arent going to get all that at the pumps but still it shows the petrol companys are still making money out of us aswell at the utilities who are quick enough to do 3 increases in a year when wholesale costs rise but when it falls they go hush hush!
#26
yay, i have a morrisons near me but will wait till tuesday and hopefully asda will follow suit as i get a further 2p off a litre with my asda credit card!!! :)
Cheers OP cos i have 110 miles till empty atm so i'll be ready to fill on tuesday!
#27
Petrol still needs to come down if going by the current price of oil. But by the time the price is filtered down to the pumps the oil prices will shoot up and surprise surprise the petrol stations will pass on the rise on to us like lightening!
#28
Good to see a drop below pound mark...going by earlier post are prices meant to be going up again, is this a temp drop then?

It's the wonderful joys of supply and demand. If I were a petrol company and knew that people would pay £1.20 for it, there's no chance you'd see me dropping the prices :w00t:
#30
As far as I know, the big oil companies buy oil 3 months in advance, so we are yet to see the price reductions we should be seeing. The difference between a litre of diesel and a litre of petrol... is simply the fact that the petrol companies taking us for a ride... they increased the margin when oil went up, but they've not decreased it now that oil has gone down.

There aught to be an investgation carried out by the goverment into this potential price fixing.
#31
be nice to see the price and litres rise at about the same rate again! hopefully shell will follow as get egg card cashback!

I'm sorry as i dont see this as a deal, petrol stations are everywhere and almost all in the same area are all priced the same.. This would be a 'deal' if it were some bargain that was not on everyones doorstep. :whistling:
#33
best part of this deal is that asda will follow, then so will sainsburys, and then so will my local shell, quility fuel at 99.9... i like it!

Is there a Morrisons refinery in the UK? Or an ASDA one? Or a Tesco refinery?

No, I thought not.

All the petrol/diesel comes from the same refineries, and garages will source from whatever’s near.

Tesco use Esso and Morrisons use BP......... no doubt all supermarkets have long contracts with there suppliers and dont buy their supplies adhoc as mentioned incorrectly by the previous poster... added heat as this will hopefully drive the cost down
#36
wqooohooo can now fill up my grand voyager for less then £80 :)
