My first post :) as a virgin bargain hunter, but a long time lurker :) .. I spotted this in Morrisons today, its an Emachines, 15.6" notebook, microsoft windows 7 home premium, AMD v140 processor, 250gb hard drive, 2 gig mrmory, wireless, dvd rw supermulti drive.

I noticed many had sold, but some still available in my local Morrisons, lady at customer service said they had been flying off the shelves in the stock room.

Looked good to me so bought one as a gift for a friend whos been after a simple machine.

Hopefully its a good deal, but seemed good to me at £289, many years ago I remember when these things cost over £500 for a average spec, seems tech these days is becoming a lot more affordable.

... no longer a hotdeal virgin wooohoooo!!

I am afraid the AMD V140 is a low powered single core CPU so not very good.

There have been many laptops posted on here in the last week for around £300 with far better CPUs than this (and more memory and larger hard disks)

Like this one (and others on the Tesco site) for £295

oopsie, wow that laptop seems much better spec and looks nice build quality too, ok please ignore my first post :) .. far better out there for not much more.

I'll study the tesco deals now and return this one tommorow, so far liking the dell :)
hi is this deal online?
I couldn't see it in store might be store only ?

I'm stuck on which one to get heres the short list what do you reckon ? (is the processor the same as the v140)

what do you reckon is the best way to go ?

I went with the compaq, quidco tracked £7 odd quid off too so not to bad.
I noticed Tesco has put the price up to £399 oddly ?
