Shame, I was after a woman in Manchester, not much use without the basic skillset though I'm afraid :( lol

Ive got enuff basic skills to know that i'm not gonna slave at an oven when ya can buy one ready cooked:thumbsup:

This doesn't seem that good this time. The only items of interest to me are the chicken and the carrots, I've recently done a shop from Tesco and 1.3kg chickens where £1.99 and carrots are 45p.

I make my own roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. 2.5kg of potatoes are currently 57p at Tesco and 1.5kg of flour is only 33p and this will make around 156 yorkshire puds (12 = 110g flour, 300ml milk and 1 egg).

Looks like Asda have 1.6kg chickens for £1.85.

The Quorn deal is very hot, and I'd buy the Yorkshire puddings too.

The rest doesn't seem great - I wouldn't expect to pay more than 80p for my peas and carrots, and I always make my own roast potatoes.

I have to vote this Hot:thumbsup: If I could feed my family a Sunday dinner for £5 I would be a happy bunny and wouldnt mind sticking the chicken in the oven!

Why do vegetarians strive to have their vegetables look, smell, taste, and cook like meat??

No vegetarians 'strive' to have that - it's simply another option, particularly useful for things like a roast. The smell is never replicated either, who the hell wants to replicate the smell of raw meat? Not sure what you mean by 'cook'...it cooks like meat as in you put it in the oven, yes. :roll:

As for making it taste like it...well...if you can have a similar experience without butchering another living creature, then why not? I use Quorn (or similar) mince in things like shepherd's pie and and spaghetti bolognese, and I've tricked meat eaters with it many times. The chicken varieties are quite obvious not chicken, but is still delicious in things like fajitas/curries.

I suspect you've never tried any of it to be honest. Even when I did eat meat, I still preferred spicy-bean burgers to regular ones. I've found the only thing that can't be adequately replaced with a vegetarian option is steak, there simply isn't a substitute for that. I can live my life without those though.

I agree with you i am a meat eater but a lot of the time i use quorn in shep pie and curries etc mainly so there is less grease and its healthy.
