Wishful thinking lol

Yes. I know. :-(

after all $97 a barrel, hopefully come down over the next few days then
#8
:)..Hope so..

Im sure ive read/heard that petrol suppliers buy oil a month in advance and therefore still charge more, hence the recent collapse of XL.
#10
Sorry hadnt subscribed to thread, forgot its not automatic, it was the widnes store I passed on way home. The queues were huge and staff were waiting to close the forecourt, then a few minutes later the price dropped so maybe its about when the staff can get round to changing the display? Hope its all over would make a nice chnage after all the recent increase. :)
#11
What about diesel ?
#12
i hope it doesnt go down, i filled the tank up completely yesterday. but good news anyway if it does go down.
And yes they do buy the oil in advance thus petrol purchases are usually upto 2 month after the price drop. Im thinking this may be a reaction to when oil hit $110-120 a barrel, so hopefully in a month or so it may drop back to 99.9p per litre which will bring smiles all around for the winter :)

Does anyone know why they have the .9p ?? why cant they just sell at 109.0p?

Cos they would charge up rather than down and 109.9 sounds less than 110! (or so they tell us anyway) :-D
#17
go on the morrisons!!
#18
£1.06.9 at the St.Helens branch, I would think all the others will follow shortly, but morrisons seem to be the first to start the reductions over the last couple of months.
#19
I'll check my local Morrisons tomorrow when the petrol station re-opens ( it's been getting new pumps installed) . Should be 105.9p with the 3p reduction .
#20
At our local Shell garage petrol dropped by 2p down to 110.9, no-where near big enough to make me smile though.

To be honest, I'll only be bothered by a drop if it takes petrol to below 99p. It's all just a big scam anyway. They raise prices until people get angry, lower them until people are 'content' again, and then raise them back up to the values that people were angry at but are now used to and have seen before. We're such suckers for it though :(
#21
Wishaw branch (Lanarkshire) has it at 106.9p too.
Just boycott BP and Shell - you'll see the prices drop dramatically.
#22
Stoke has it for 106.9 this evening.
#23
2 month lag is crazy. canada change there prices as it changes, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. max was 147dollars a barrel, now it is 97dollars so should go back under a pound soon, if the oil companies play fair.
#24
Good on Morrison's, ASDA will drop prices next and the last will be Tesco as always.
#25
Were still being ripped of it drops in france quickly when oil drops ,Good on Morrisons but there still ripping us off.
#26

BP and Shell supply the supermarkets with their fuel too, they won't care a jott if you boycott them.

Crude Oil price drops, pound rises, it will not surprise to see petrol price drops in a few days...
#31
the govt s 2p a litre rise is coming soon.....
#32
Funny how the petrol companies put the prices up almost overnight when there's an oil price rise but then use the excuse that it takes months to get through the system when oil drops...
:x
#33
Crude Oil has been below $100 a barrel for a while now - or thereabouts.

It doesn't follow immediately as the buyers buy in bulk, so I'm told.

Still, that doesn't explain why it goes up rather quickly.
#34
Just noticed, by why is the price on the deal £106.90?

I'm sure they would - regardless who buys their wholesale fuel, they still collect more money from their own pumps.
#37
I can confirm this as true. Popped into the usual Morrisons filling station in Chippenham today and saw, surprisingly, that it was now at 106.9p.

Four hundred miles or so since last fill up, and this one cost less than £30! Phew.
banned#38
at coalville now petrol is 107.9p a litre.
price changed acording to staff at 4.30pm today
#39
People seem to be forgetting the oil companies don't make a huge amount from petrol and aren't happy until they are selling it at a loss...
