Been posted before (although not sure if it was over a month ago or not), but anyway, its cold.

Was this price for weeks before release at shopto, so its fairly standard.

It went out of stock though this past week so it's good to know they have more in :)

I'm with Threepwood, £19.99 or lower is my biting point on this. Still haven't played BlazBlue: Contiuum Shift, plus AE is coming out soon...

MK is definitely worth the £30 imo. Blazblue is a lot more for advanced players I found whereas MK can be fairly casual but deeper if you get stuck into it.
More accessible I guess I'm trying to say lol.

Yeah, I've heard it is brilliant. I was lucky enough to download the demo right before PSN went down. Wasn't that impressed - I thought the hit detection was really weird compared to SSFIV.

All western fighter's are designed to be easy to play, hard to master, where as the japanese ones (minus soul calibur for instance) tend to be aimed at pro's.

Street Fighter for example. Although in Street Fighter's case, its accessible, but due to the terrible CPU AI, its stupidly hard to get decent at it unless you know a friend or two with it.

Time, practice and online play are what helps a man improve, not playing the idiot CPU. You're right though, you're in for hundreds of beatings before you will have even half a clue what you are doing.

Yeah. SF, BlazBlue, and the likes are basically all about getting used to the quarter/semi circle movements etc. Soul Calibuer seems to be all about timing and blocking more than anything. Tekken similar, although theres some crazy combos to be had, but personally I found the rage system ruined the game too much.

I avoided online on SF at first, got a bit depressing being destroyed by the pro's constantly :(

Been this price since before it was even released and on similar sites. Nothing special.

17.99 in a couple of weeks I reckon. Despite that possibility, this is hot from me for now.

Fighting games, no matter how good they've been this gen drop in price super fast. Tekken 6 was £18 within 2 weeks of release in 2009 if I remember correctly. This will be the same. I'm kinda hoping the PS3 sales are worse than 360 so it drops faster. The recent PS3 outage will definately have an impact on sales and I'd prefer the PS3 version simply because the d-pad is miles better. Kratos is a bonus :)
#13
Cheaper at Bee.com but currently out of stock.
#14
Played this game today, it's so damn cool...love the x-ray movies...you get to see the enemies bones breaking in several different ways, I never pull off fatalities though. The damage on this game is awesome as well all sorts of body parts can come off. ;)

Played this game for 12 hours of the last 24 (including sleep) and i'm not even a fighting game fan.

Absolutely fantastic. Paid £40 yesterday, and feel that it worth way more.

Meh, I was gonna buy it the day before on Shopto but it was sold out.

Got it before going to a mates, and just picked it up in the first shop I went into.

I came to HotDeals for the big deals, not the 23p saving on toilet roll :P

If your gonna get it get it from game and u get dlc to download 3 retro characters and flog the codes on ebay
i paid £35 and got £23 back on ebay for the codes yesterday meaning i paid £12 for the game

I might've bit at this price, but I've read that the bosses are stupidly difficult again. Always been a downfall of mk.

FYI this is sold out at shopto. They are however letting you pre-order for when they get stock in. I was going to order about 4 days ago and noticed that it said pre-order even though the game had already been relaeased. I called customer services and was told that it was out of stock and they they were taking orders but didnt expect delivery until around the 4th/5th ish.

LOL, all your arguements aobut playing and playing to get good, thats the case with any GOOD game, like CSS, SF and SC2. If a game didn't take lots of training to get good its not a good game, so that arguement was stupid....

It wasn't an argument you imbecile, it was two people respectfully expressing opposing views.
#23
Its been this price at loads of places since before release. Got mine from Amazon and got the DLC codes which I sold for £50, paid for the game and gave me £20 towards a copy of Portal 2 ;)

Not voting as it is cheap but no cheaper than it is already.
#24
For those who still haven't got the game,, it is worth noting NOT to get it pre-owned if u wish to play online,, as this game has a online activation,, so if u were to get it pre-owned you might need to pay extra just to play online.

Good game, really enjoyed the challenge tower.

There is a rumor that Freddy and Jason are going to be DLC at halloween, really hope this is true :D
#27
Ordered a day before it was release and they dispatched it on the same day but I still haven't received it. Wherever they had it in stock is unknown to me.
#28
I've done everything on MK Including the tower 300 challenges and unlocked the two characters. Great game just waiting to play online when the PSN Is backup.
#29
lovin this game, prob the best fighting game out there, they have striped it back and made the moves much better to control..

I popped on Blazblue for my first bit of online play once....instantly got matched with like a level 90 player. It wasn't pretty.
I steer well clear of online fighting as I find as well as the poor skill matching above there always tends to be some input lag which really puts me off. Just sticking with offline 2 player these days!

You can buy a Hori arcade stick at Game for £12.98 at the moment too, which will give you a much more arcade experience when you play this game.

Take it thats instore? And the old model i assume with the 8 buttons.
I ended up going for the 40 quid blazblue EX2, only one that isnt ridiculously overpriced atm.
Unless you spend £100 on the SF4 TE stick, the cheaper ones are harder to get hold of :(

IMO the only way to play is with an arcade stick. The easier games like soul calibur you can get away with the crappy standard controllers, but not with more combo reliant series'.

Yes, it was instore. The model I picked up is the Hori fighting stick 3 which is around two years old. Surely every arcade stick should have 8 buttons, otherwise you could not play games like Marvel vs Capcom 3 effectively?

I know exactly what you mean saying the sticks are overpriced, which is why I was tempted to pick up two when I saw them for so cheap.

The response time is so much better than standard controllers, and combos definitely are easier to pull off, but I just cannot get used to the square gate! I probaly will need to mod it.

Depends on what you play I guess. Most games dont really utilise more than 6 buttons.

I'm definitely interested in modding mine. I find the square gate to be inaccurate at times, but of course its no where near as bad as a standard controller.

Wouldn't worry too much about the bosses mate, the only one who is stupidly difficult (until you figure him out) is shao kahn. The rest are cake.

And, Shao Kahn is crazily easy once you figure him out too. The secret? He cannot defend at all against cross-ups. On any difficulty. Simply constantly jump over his head, kick on your way down. Repeat x 50 ish and with good timing and a bit of luck, you'll perfect him.

The AI is pretty pathetic though. It just constantly gets stuck in loops of the same move, and the only way it becomes truely challenging is by defying the laws of the game.
