Mothercare have recently introduced a price match promise policy throughout their stores and website.

Mothercare will refund the difference in price of an item ordered online (and delivered to store for free if you wish), PLUS if the item is over £20 in value, they will also send you a £10 gift card.

The standard price match is available in store too, but the voucher is not available if the whole transaction is completed in store.

This promise comes into it's own though when applied online due to the £10 gift card.

The only caveat is that you cannot price match with "Online Auction Websites".

Very good deal - You don't find many retailers price matching any website. (I know John Lewis have started price matching Online Stores, but only Brick and Mortar equivalents, eg. currys.com [if you haven't boycotted them already])

Note: The £10 is given if the item's value is over £20, NOT if the difference in price between them is £20.

I ordered a baby carrier to be delivered to store for £43.99.

Phoned up and informed them that it was £43.95 on John Lewis's Website.

The Customer Service Advisor actually asked me "Is that the best price you could find"

To which I responded with "Well, It is available on BabyPlanet.biz for £42.50"
(for the record, that website doesn't look the most reputable, and has some poor reviews - take a look yourself)

"No problem, I'll refund the difference for you now and get a £10 gift card sent out".

I asked her what colour the one they were selling was (so I could check for the best price) and she said "It doesn't matter about colour, as long as it's the same product or is comparable"

0845 330 4030 == 01923 210210 when ringing them too.

Indeed, a great deal for us, but not for Mothercare.

From my experiences, I have never found them to be the cheapest (which with the price promise, helps the consumer), but how long can they do this without taking a major hit themselves?

I will certainly be using this in the near future, and testing them out :)

Ha, this is going to cost Mothercare a fortune! Almost everything they sell is cheaper elsewhere.

Always a good place to start when looking to find the same thing but alot cheaper is Argos (_;)

I have friends in the retail trade and this offer should make you think about how much profit mothercare make on its goods, when they can afford to do this in order to increase customer traffic. Many people will order from mothercare because of their reputation, then forget to claim the cashback,so a good bit of advertising probably.
Great find and thanks for the information to the op.

it's nice they offer price match but getting the difference back would be nice. They sell this mattress for £135 which can be found elsewhere for £84.95. I'm guessing that's the reason for it, they rip people off too much.

They do give you the difference back...

I'm not sure what you mean.

Can you buy something, get the price match, then return the item you'd initially bought?? Therefore keeping the gift card?

Not normally one to abuse deals, but Mothercare ripped me off with a pushchair - my mum bought it when I was pregnant and then refused to replace it when it broke after a few uses because the warranty had expired even though it had clearly just come out of the box. So I'd quite gladly take a couple of their £10 giftcards as part-compensation for the £80 we lost a couple of years ago if it can be done!

iv been looking for a buggy for my large 18month old son for 4wks now and decided that phil & ted sport buggy wld last him until his four. Mothercare was selling it for £372.99 and i saw it for £238.00 the cheapest price going. I rang Mothercare and ordered it and paid the cheapest option, plus i get a £10 voucher, im a very happy bargain hunter.

If your looking for a cheap Phil and Ted Sport, or other buggys or pram that is on the Mothercare website, go to WHATAFIND.COM and do the price promise, it works. Enjoy your saving

Hi,
Looking to buy a Cabriofix car seat, obviously available cheaper elsewhere so they will price match it, but does anyone know if the colour matters?
ie. mothercare have the colour we want but i think its exclusive to them, so cant match the colour elsewhere even though the seat is the same...

They now price match Amazon!!
The other day they priced matched Amazon marketplace for me and charged the price (not Inc postage)
Have had some right bargains!!
