Faster, slimmer and stronger, the 4th-generation Moto G has a thinner built yet boasts a more impressive screen – 5.5” Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) – and advanced 1.5 GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 617 octa-core processor with 550 MHz Adreno 405 GPU for quick-fire multitasking and the option for 3D gaming.
Powerful cameras
As good as a digital camera, the 13-megapixel camera on this Moto G has dual LED flash, 4x digital zoom and ultra-fast f2.0 lens to snap high-quality photos in almost any environment, day or night. Its High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode makes it easy to capture the brightest highlights and darkest shadows to record rich colours and exceptional detail.
The 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens allows you to get large group in the selfie shot, so nobody feels left out. Plus, the Quick Capture feature means you can launch the rear camera with two twists of the wrist, then double twist again to switch to the front camera, ensuring you never miss a shot.
Octa-core processor
Multitasking is totally seamless, allowing you to quickly and easily switch between apps, web pages and calls. The octa-core processor is so powerful it’ll fully support 3D images for a richer gaming experience.
Latest software
Loaded with the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow to provide you with improved functions and features such as the redesigned home screen with permanent Google search bar, including the refreshed Google logo; vertical scrolling on the app drawer; and predictive app search to help you find what you’re looking for.
Another winning addition is the Now On Tap function as it interprets what’s on your phone’s screen to know when to deliver relevant search results. For example, if you’re texting a friend and mention a title of a film or book, then an automatic Google search will be conducted to bring you the latest reviews or sites where you can buy the mentioned title. Plus, Marshmallow's Doze feature works to preserve battery life by switching background tasks, which aren’t in full use, to hibernate.
Expandable storage
The Moto G is built with a microSD card slot that can support a memory card (sold separately) up to 128GB - perfect for when you're going on holiday and want to travel light.

My problem with the CPW is the arbitrary nature of the upgrades. I like my Moto G3, got it from Amazon for same price but the G4 doesn't seem much of a step up
#2
how does upgrade work ? sorry for sounding simple but surely there must be some kind of limitations to what you can upgrade from.

G4 is better in almost every area the main being
- full HD 1080p screen
- octa core cpu
- 2gb ram

Only negative is no ip rating but it's definitely worth upgrading

Fingerprint is so overrated anyway. No NFC is a deal breaker though.

I'm guessing this is one of the best buys for a budget phone??

I have the 16gb and 2gb G3, that was a deal breaker when I upgraded from my S3 as it often got really slow
#15
I have a 2gb G3 too if I was to change I'd be more leaning to the wileyfox swift 2 at £119.

The problem with the g4 is it isn't that much better than the g3 coupled with that the g4 plus is not much more if you look around for what you get on top, it sits in the middle just a bit too much, this price helps with that...

Plus version has free turbo charger included, better camera, more storage on most versions, fingerprint scanner

Been this price for at least a month.

Best thing about this is the exellent sofware, camera is also very decent for this price range. Only problem for me is that it often restarts itself when browsing I suspect this is the limitation of 2gb of ram.

shouldnt do that, my g4 plus doesn't and 2GB is plenty, I get about 1.5GB use. Try wiping the cache partition.

I thought that until got the G4Plus, unlocking is instant rather than the very tedious and time consumer entering 4 digit PIN :D

the best reason to have it I think is that it unlocks the Nat West banking app and I don't have to remember my log in

Yes! It's been in once for repair, which hasn't fixed it. It's being collected again tomorrow. Motorola have said they will only replace it if there's been 2 failed repairs.

I've been very disappointed with Motorola's customer service. Hard to get through on the phone and then you have to wait several days for them to email you the label you need to return it.

I'm with you on that one. I'd seriously never buy a phone without fingerprint scanner after being used to one for so long now also. As you said it is not only just about unlocking but for app use also. Think it is an almost a must also with a wide phone much easier placing finger on back than typing pin code or a password for apps etc.

I've now had a second failed repair and Motorola are refusing to give me a refund. Awful company to deal with - never again!
