1st place to list it sub £150

I appreciate it's another Moto G listing.... and it's eBuyer, which some people have an aversion to... and the listing itself seems like a place holder, (which does let you order)...

But...

It is the 1st place to list sub £150 delivered - with free 5 day shipping or as normal you can pay extra for faster shipping...

eBuyer QuickFind code: 654995

Now hopefully just see the other sellers price match... Or go lower...

My mum had one of these as an upgrade at the weekend. Seems like a great phone, really quick for what she needs.

I would personally wait for the Tesco version, which would be cheaper.

Back in stock for £159.99

I have a Nexus 4 atm but I'll keep my eye out for a deal on the 16GB version of this. You really can't complain at that price.
#19
Maybe we can now find out what LTE bands this UK version has got.

There is no 16GB version of the 4G variant, 8GB and micro SD only.

MicroSD works for me as long as it doesn't slow anything down.

Why do people rate this hone so highly ? The camera is total rubbish and the processor, gpu and screen are poor by modern standards.

Because it isn't £400?

Because other phones are four times the price....

I would rather pick up an as new used phone with much better specs for less money personally but each to their own.
The camera is horrific bordering on unusable 5 year old tech. 8gb is nothing like enough for a smart phone if you use it as a smartphone and as mentioned the majority of other specs are similarly poor. People are making out its a bargain for £150 it does not seem like a bargain spec wise for the price.

I, for one, could not give a toss about the camera on my phone.
#28
Well that's good because the camera on this phone is bordering on unusable.

Because everything isn't just about spec!! (High spec is useless if it's poorly implemented and the phone badly engineered)
You have to also consider things such as build quality, engineering, nano coated tech/high level water resistance, ROM/Community support, battery life, practicability ....etc ...etc

The Moto G hasn't become one of the all time best ever selling phones by accident, it's arguably pound-4-pound the best ever phone released.

When it was released maybe but really with the advent of automatic rom installers and the improvement in phones and the drop in price of previous models sg3 / sg4 for example I cant see how its good value.

Deals for Nexus 5 on here recently for 16GB £199. Ok Its £50 more but its much more than £50 better than this handset. SG3 cyanogenmod Kit Kat is better than one of these in every way by a considerable margin and you can pick up as new for similar money. Its 2 gen old now as well.

I cant understand how a smartphone with a camera that is unusable and only 8GB of memory is classed as good value at £150 or one of the best phones for the money ever it just sounds ridiculous based on the price and specs.

This might come as a shock, but not everyone thinks like you, some people want a phone that makes calls, text, internet, take the occasional picture and has excellent battery life for a decent price, which so happens, the Moto G does and have.

any link for "Deals for Nexus 5 on here recently for 16GB £199"?.. can't seem to see in Hotukdeals search. Cheapest I can find is £239 from months back.

The battery life is hardly excellent, my sg3 has gone 29 hours since it last recharge and still has 25% battery left and I hammer it calls and internet usage wise, its expected that the battery will last over 24 hrs on a decent smart phone properly setup so you can hardly class basic functionality as a big selling point.

Its like saying it can make calls or text messages.

motorola said moto g 4g would have an unlocked launch price of £149 yet all their launch parters are pre order at £159 - i wonder if the prices will drop to the £149 motorola promised when stores get these handset in stock?

You harp on about specs etc and you dont even know the difference between memory and storage!

Hardly excellent? Seems pretty excellent to me and also a friend who owns one, who, incidentally switched from the S3 to the Moto G finds that it last much longer. Also, have some links.

You say you hammer with calls and internet, but you don't mention screen on time, that's the real battery killer in smartphones. I've owned an S3, I used to use it a lot and can get about 18 hours use and would be about 6% when I charge, would have about 3 and a half hours screen on time over 3G not wifi. I have an LG G2 now (or is that also a crap phone?), but you don't see me dismissing a budget handset, I can see the merits of this and why people would want it or praise it, it does what 'they' need and at a cost they can 'afford'. You throw round oh, throw in an extra £50 and you can get x phone, but to some people that £50 is needed for more essential things in life than a phone.
#37
30 hours 15% battery....... Were you running stock rom on the sg3 as the phone was so bad with that on it made my eyes bleed. You would be lucky to get 12 hours out of an sg3 with the stock rom after the last over the air update.

So now we're throwing around the average consumer who is going to use a phone as it is out of box would use custom roms on their phones? But I have used various roms and kernels on it, it probably gave an extra half hour at most, but I am a 'heavy' user, email sync on auto, whatsapp, facebook, snapchat, web browsing, youtube, texts, calls, all on 3g and 25% brightness, I don't know what your way of usage is, because, shock horror, everyone is different. But you still don't mention your screen on time, as I have said it is the biggest killer.

Next best thing to a Nexus device, but with a micro-sd slot. Needs to be a little cheaper for me to bite.
