Motofone F3 Orange Pay as you go instore £9.00

£9.00 @ George (Asda George)
This is a basic phone but quite slim and stylish. Some people really dislike it but I'm impressed. Great as a spare phone or for someone just needing to make and receive calls. details here http://www…

Rubbish phone if you ever want to use it for anything other than calling. One word per screen hurts Adam's eyes. :(

Cant go wrong for £9 I guess :)
#4
I've voted hot for the price - but the phone really is bad.

If you ONLY want to use this as a phone, then it's great.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago ONLY to take out on my jetski to use out on the water, and for that its brilliant.

Having a really simple screen with BIG letters/numbers is excellent.

No way I would use it for "normal" use though ;)
#6
Brilliant for people needing a larger screen ( like my mum who squints trying to read her blooming texts!) mind you i must be blind i clicked the link and couldnt find it!  blonde moment!

Hi,

"Tuppenceworth";

It has great merit for those with impaired sight and touch.

It is a boon for me.

Light and compact, good battery life, can see the display night-time or 'full sun' in 'big print'.

For 'feely' assistance there are raised 'guide' bars to separate the number rows on the keypad [the 'white-lines' in the piccy.] which stand proud of the face.

Plus, incorporated, is a voice guide to operation.

Nice 'tool'. [imho],

Best,

B..

will be getting this next time i go to asda. 9 pounds lol.
#9
Yeah I'm getting this as a backup.

For £9 I don't expect much from a phone, just talk and text.
#10
Can't go wrong at £9.00!

Im soo glad im not the only one who cant see it! Iv been going mental looking for it!:giggle: Let me know if you find it cos im loosing the will to live!:?
#15
lol I had one of these it was so bad it should have been illegal to charge £25 for it :giggle: , £9.00 though seems about right to me, as long as you dont expect too much from it, it looks good until you turn it on and try and use it, ideal for leaving in the car glovebox though for emergencys as it has a good battery life!

Anyone know if you can unlock these easily?

Only asking as mother-in-law has just been round with her "house brick" as she doesn't know how to get the charger in it! Shows how often she uses it.
"Why don't you get a new one" we asked?
"I like this one and the new ones are too complicated and I only make calls on it, if I need to in an emergency"

So this would be ideal, but she's on Vodafone and doesn't want to swop, it's too much hassle for her! (Don't know why I'm bothering really, just making rods for backs if you see what I mean?)

 That's what it's for, making telephone calls and it does that very well. The best for call clarity of any mobile I have ever used.

when you say it is bad, in what respect?? my son has asked for a phone for his 10th birthday, he doesnt yet have any friends with phones, so will probably rarely use it, maybe just to send texts to family or to ring me from his room (LOL) I dont want to pay a fortune, bet also dont want to get something that will pack up after a few weeks.

I've got this phone - I bought it as a spare but it has now replaced my wake-up alarm clock as the alarm on it will wake the dead!

However - I don't think this phone is suitable for a 10 year old. It has a b&w screen (kids love color), no games (kids love games), no camera (kids love cameras), no mp3 player (kids love music).

It is purely a functional mobile phone and once you've picked it up a couple of times the novelty is gone.

There are many cheap phones with color screens that include basic games, a camera and a mp3 player which I'm sure your 10 year old will get tons of enjoyment from.

The attraction of this phone is the really big characters on the display - just what my Mum needs.
I used to have a Sony-Ericsson where you could choose the test size - great except that it had tiny buttons she couldn't see. This is ideal! I don't know of any other mobile where you can zoom the text size. All my Mum needs is a PHONE for emergencies etc.

Not selling in Peterborough until Thursday - looks like Stevenage have jumped the gun - pity, I used to work opposite the store!!!

#35
hi when does this phone become this price Thusday? Also there was a link to other phones for phones4U. Why was that taken down. Thanks
#36
Hi same question will this phone be this price on thursday in Asda 2 per customer ?
Are the unlocked?
#37
Here's the definitive answer as to who this phone is for - everybody, but maybe only as a 'second' phone. I'll explain, my son has a very nice camera phone, but when he's out playing football (he's 15) and other such rough and tumble activities, he takes his F3 as its virtually indestructable. My wife and me have a nice enough contract phone each but also have one of these in the glovebox just in case. If you don't use it regularly you'll get spectacular battery life out of it, so it's ideal to leave in the glovebox for use in emergencies. Lastly, my father is 78 and still gets out and about so we got him this mobile to carry with him. Now, call him old fashioned but he uses a phone to make phone calls with, and that's it. Amazing, isn't it? LOL. He loves this phone, not least due to its very loud ring and SUPERB call clarity (he's a bit mutton jeff). Sermon over.

Asda Brierley Hill in the West Midlands was announcing these mobiles on the Tannoy this morning. They only had about 10 phones, so i expect they will sell out very quickly.
Great price for a basic phone.:w00t:
