My motor insurance is due and i've always wondered what I pay motor legal protection for. It was going to be just under £30 for this year for me.

Anyway after doing a bit of research I came across this site that offers 1 person cover for £15 and £20 for 2 people which will save me a bit of money. Its recommended by The Guardian.

Not sure where to post this so please move if in the wrong place.

Will only be of use to you if not at fault so most don't benefit and furthermore they get their kickback when you use their PI claims company
But this is a good deal If you want such a cover

You got any evidence to indicate that they will, contrary to UK law, sell your information if you ask them not to?

They make their money by adding their fees to the amount that gets billed to the third party, as I understand it. Why would you pay for the same thing you can get free?

I had to claim when someone went into the back of me and my insurance company would have charged me a few hundred if I hadn't got motor legal protection. This is a good deal for 2 people.

An even better deal is free i.e. no charge for the policy:-

As someone said above, this type of policy is for no fault claims and covers your unclaimables under your motor insurance such as any excess and personal injury compensation. The companies providing these policies make their money by claiming fees from the party (or their insurer) who was at fault.
