4% Quidco too... suspect you will need a alignment meter for this if it doesn't come with one.

NOTE: This comes WITHOUT a Set Top Box.

Good point! lol!

I thought that box was the control box for the motor, happy to be wrong of course.

Can you add a different/second set top box (i.e. HD for freesat?
#7

Yes

No. You will need to change LNB to dual/quad one and even then second receiver will get only those channels from satellite at which dish is currently pointing. If you want to have more than one receiver and there is no need for sat change then I'd recommend you to go for static setup.

The receiver is FTA only.

You can add different box as long as it supports the motorised dish. The motor get the signal from the box to set the direction.

i'm curious to know how these work? how do you know where to look for channels etc!?!?
Sorry if its a dumb question  , but i wasnt sure if you just tuned it like a "normal" freeview box and it lists the available channels? I presume pointing the dish in different positions would give different results??

The non-motorised Silverline (rebranded Comag) box I use when caravanning has a variable audible tone for use when setting up that beats any meter I have used (even though I have one!) - this may well be the same. I even used it to set up a larger 60cm Sky dish I installed when I was having problems with signal strength at home. Once you get it basically right using the tone, the on-screen display is very sensitive (unlike that on a skybox), and you can use that to fine tune it futher. [/SIZE]

Tune it to one satellite, scan channels. Delete 80% of channels (those in languages you do not understand, "call-to-see-this-girl-naked", competitions and home shopping ones). Then tune it to next satellite and so on. Once you got all the channels you want, by switching channels, the receiver will automatically move dish according to your selection. Which means that some channels could take longer to switch to than some others.

i think ian from maplins, being slightly missleading

the premier footballs on nilesat @ 7w and in the vbery south of the uk, you may just pull the signals in on a quality 1.5meter dish. 1.8 recomended, mid uk its a 2.4meter dish and upwards

Anyone know where I could get a list of channels this could pick up, sorry for the newbie question.

Depends on where you live obviously. Most common satellites are Astra (both 19.2 and 28.2) and Hotbird (13.0). Look for FTA channels.
