the 5 cashback claims do put me off though....
#5
Dont be put off pre-reg :) I'd say CNM is quickest to pay cashback. Had two claims so far and in both cases received the cheque in less than 14 days of posting the claim.

first time i've seen a pda on 12m free. would love to get one!

3 bills take about a week. CNM gives you 30 days to claim & there shouldnt be any problems.
#8
Probably a usual question but... how easy is this (if at all) to unlock?

Cheers
#9
This is one of the best mobile's i've EVER had. It's a pda and just your life can be sorted from it. Touch screen, huge colour screen, 1.3 MP camera, entry by handwriting recognition or on-screen qwerty keyboard, it is an awesome phone! I've kept mine now on 3 for two years, i sold my 6280 when i upgraded. I'd keep it for another year if the battery was more reliable.

Texting is NOT easy, cos of the data entry but that's for me the only downside.

I think i might be having another :-D

As for late bills on 3, my bill date is the 16th, and i normally get mine by the 25th at latest.

Get this phone!

great! let me just try to sell my existing phone and get a bit of cash :)

Would ask the same question,is it easy to unlock?
#12
if worried about cah back perhaps you'd like to know on 3 i've had 2 A835 from A1comms with 50% cashback; 5 7600s (cpw / e2save) on 3 (3 100% cashback, 2 £60 total) lg8360 and nokia 6630 from link on 3 100% and £60 profit (quidco). Just trying mobileoutlet (LOL) with sony k608i, but 3 billing is reliable and on time, the link,cpw(e2save) very honest. will try the a1000 i think.
#13
I've just been looking at the 3G forum unlocking handsets and there seems to not be a clear answer, well one i can understand anyways lol.

Have a look at link above and see if you can unlock it.
I've not tried, so cannot comment fairly
#14
apparently one can buy the software and unlock it themselves using usb cable. don't really understand how...

Hey everyone ..and specially.. the contributors to 12 month free deals..duckmagic2 and edi..thks fellas

Ive been doing a little research on whether the Motorola A1000 is really unlockable and if yes is it 100% sure.ie. does it work every time.
I've found conflicting replies in other forums...but the best ive found..who seem to give you a refund if it doesnt work is the below link
http://www.motounlocknow.com/a1000-unlock.htm
but i havent really tried it..anyone know hw reliable this is?
#19
Maybe I'm being daft, but why would you want to unlock it when the bundle it comes with is enough for most people? You can always port your old number to the new phone. I can't see the benefit of unlocking until your 12 months is up - and by then there will be another deal about.

By unlocking a brand new phone, you may forfeit the warranty as well ;-)
#21
I usually tend to change my phone after a few months ..so when it comes to reselling the phone an unlocked one fetches a better price..also dnt know bout the warranty bit..since the hardware is not really affected by an unlock..and software doesnt really require a warranty as u can easily reload it

If you buy one of these phones, how do you go about keeping your mobile number?
#23
also i travel abroad a lot and dnt like to use three on roaming..its a lot cheaper to use a local sim and hence havin a unlocked phone helps;-)
#24
Unlocking certainly helps esp when you travel abroad. As I said before some companies like Virgin Mobile (where I heard this first) wont honour the warranty if you unlock a phone elsewhere.

Better check with the phone provider first. :)
#25
k, cheers edi
for those who do want to unlock it..other forums hv mentioned the smartclip method being quite gd..its the new bootloader 01.02.11 which causes a prblem in unlockin by other methods..can ne1 who hv bought one lately let us know what is the bootloader being used?

Has anyone recieved one....after a week of waiting i called them and they said they have withdrawn the offer and this phone is not available. WAsnt too happy especially as i have had no contact from them.

Apparently they only had a few handsets which went straightaway and they will not begetting anymore!! I could cancel or choose another handset.

I asked about the motorola v3x and the same story! Very crafty business practice.

Anyway as i am desperate for this deal went with the sony ericcson Sony Ericsson K608i .

VERY VERY UNHAPPY! what do you guys advice? has anyone recived this phone?

Thanks
#27
Still shows in stock ...
#28
New here, great site btw.

I ordered a week ago too but no contact. Sent some emails and no reply. Does seem very crafty given they still have the phone advertised on their website (so apparent stock) but won't hold their word.

Perhaps i'm just ranting...but doesn't do much for customer confidence....
#29
Thanks & Welcome to HUKD Chester :)

CoolNewMobile's contact numbers are:

01270 412304 (Customer services)
01270 755322 (Sales)
#30
Thanks Edi!

Just called, somebody picked up and said no-one's in office today (customer services) and I'll have to call monday.

Will give you guys an update when I get through.

Looks like this specific deal has expired though but they have another 12 month deal ""3" (Three) Talk & Text 900 - 750 Any network minutes + 150 Text messages"

See it just under the other packages for this phone but can't get specific link.
#31
i would NOT trust anything from them now...the guy i spoke to yesterday morning said they would be taking these phones including v3x off the website straight away as it was a error and shouldn`t be there.

It seems they are making people order then saying choose another phone...very crafty.
#32
If this is true and this phone is not available i will be so angry, ordered this last week, phoned to check and told it wuld be sent as soon as in stock.
if i dont get this its being dishonest, the phone is now advertised tonight in stock with 10 months free line rental.
Who is the regulator for these companies just in case?
cheers
#33
Got an email reply this morning saying there's a stock shortage but then a couple hours later got a 'dispatched' email.

So, I guess fingers crossed it actually comes.....

pre-reg..maybe you can ask to swap the phone now they (it seems) have stock?
#34
Got this fone today really cool
got sat nav navicore however 256 mb memory card is massive does not seem to fit in the lot, anyone else had this problem plz
ta
#35
hey bigfoot125.

I got my phone today too, pretty cool.

Yup, the memory card baffled me too at first lol. It's got a lock on the side of the card. Pull the lock down and then just below the navicore sticker you can pull the actual microSD card out below (abit hard to see maybe).
The card is absolutely tiny!
#36
Did you get the Navicore separately, or part of any of the Coolnewmobile deals?

Thanks
#37
Is this offer still running?
#38
Appears to be go here, scroll down and look for the two cashback deals that equate to the 12 month deals.

Not sure if they are available as has been said in this thread, there have been delays, but they're there

Thanks for the tip Edi :)
