Phoned t-mobile to see if they would match the current cashback site deals for a Motorola Defy. These are currently £115- £80. They beat it.

Deal I got was Motorola Defy for £15 delivered
24 months at £10 a month (second month free)
100 minutes 100 texts unlimited internet but a monthly changeable booster. I went for unlimited texts.

hi how did you manage to get it for £15 delivered and which cash back sites did you compare it with ?

I phoned and started the routine about wanting to match topcashback. he wasn't interesting and immediately jumped to the £15 offer. I had to triple check just in case I was missing something or misundestanding him. It arrives tomorrow.

Just ordered one cracking deal
#7
My postage was free (although saying that still don't actually have the phone because of the snow
#8
thanks for this post, got this deal for myself as well
#9
Finally arrived today. Had to phone them though as my £15 with free postage came as a delivery note for £19.99 plus £4.50 delivery. they did phone back 10 minutes later having sorted the problem

Tried to get this but only got offered the 15 quid a month with £40 for the phone. I guess it's dependant on who you speak to.
#11
Distinct feeling its a time of the month thing. It was near the end of the month and they probably wanted the contract sales
#12
try arguing using topcashback moneyback, handset is available for £115 on same tariff online and topcashback offering £80, recently they were offering £100 so you should be able to get it for £35 with 1 month free line rental

Just called T mobile and got through to the most pleasant customer service lady ever. Gave me the motorola defy On £ 10 a month with 100 mins, 100 texts, unlimited internet and a free booster(I chose call Europe) and £ 35 for the phone. Also got the Nokia C6 for the missus on £ 15 a month with 300 mins, 300 texts, unlimited internet and a free bosster thrown in as well, phone for free. great deal and very helpful sales team!
#16
wow..great thanks for the tip off, just got the offer of £10 per month for the defy ... merry christmas
#17
Can anybody comment on the battery capacity on the Defy. I was wondering how it compared with the San Francisco.
#18
Oh man, I thought I did a proper search but I missed this. No wonder my deal got voted down =[ http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-motorola-defy-300-minutes-unli/835136#post10197169
but there is some info on there if anyone wants to look at it anyways. This is a good deal you've posted, I'm just wary of the problems people have been having with its earpiece... :|
Should I still go for it? Eek.
#19
I don't get why this deal isn't higher... Like, I know the San Fran is also a good deal but not miles better than this? Perhaps I'm not techy enough to get it... Also, it got a litta votes up and now the screen change so its not as good a deal as the temperature says any more.
#20
Just went for this deal and its still live, although the Defy is £25

Contract is for £10 a month with 100 mins, Unlimited texts (booster, 100 texts otherwise), 3GB Data for 24 months, so really I could sell the phone (going for around £200 - £230 on ebay) and have a free contract! Bargain
#21
Yeah a bit bemused why this isn't hotter too folks????
#22
Probably because if you call a lot then this deal isnt that great, however considering the last few months ive used 20mins worth of texts, but thousands of texts and data, this is ideal for me

Now im just agonising over whether to keep the phone (quite a smart little phone) or get an iPhone, decisions decisions....

This is an amazing deal for me. HOWEVER! I phoned T-Mobile and the min cost for the Defy was £35, which matches the TopCashBack after £80 cashback (though I guess it's nice to have confirmation in the total cost rather than waiting for the cashback to be applied). Is it a case of getting lucky with finding a generous sales rep? :(
#24
Think it a matter of who you get when you phone and the time of the month. I would take a guess that if they are short of targets tomorrow then it will be back to £15

Not sure how youre saying this offer matches a cashback of £80?

To put it another way, checking online this is the cheapest that I could find the Defy for £256
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/3662/motorola-defy-robust-android-smartphone--sim-free-unlocked--black-

This contract, with paying for the phone at £35, costs £275, so its almost as if you were paying £20 more to have a 24 month contract.
#26
T-Mobile @ Topcashback.co.uk gives £80.80 cashback for Pay Monthly offers bought online. The Defy costs £115 @ T-Mobile. You are free to choose whatever contract. I opt for the £10/mo one as per the OP.

So basically, 115 - 80 = 35.

Tried again today, but this sales rep wouldn't budge either. I think the Christmas generosities are over. Knowing I paid £20 more just puts a bad taste in my mouth, oh well!

Or you could argue your getting two years of 100 minutes, unlimited texts and internet for only £20 for the whole period which is less than £1 a month

I wonder if I could still get this now the VAT has changed...

Cant see why not, the Quidco is still £80 cashback and the phones stil £115, plus monthly costs have only gone up to £10.21
#30
Just got one, they matched the £80 cashback. Paid £35 for phone and got the £10.21 package. They also gave me an extra booster so for price got 100 mins unlimited text and unlimited internet.

Looks a really good deal to me. Very tempted now...
Not sure 100 mins is enough for me... but need to keep the price down to £10/month....

Think this was for deals taken out after feb 1st

Got this for my daughter for christmas. battery life isn't great, but then most smart phones seem about the same, but a cracking phone. Beats my hero hands down and shade the other daughters wildfire as well.

I was offered this on the phone as well. There's not much in it and nearly took them up on it, but gone for the Phones4U deal in the end, although that didn't have the additional booster- can't see me making much use of that anyway...

Hi all

Would appreciate it if you had any answers to the following

1. What are peoples views on this phone (esp if you've had it for a few months)
2. Can anyone compare the pros and cons to the San Fran (or a similar price point phone)
3. What is the latest on the T-Mobile data limits with this tariff? I've just had a look on their site, and T Mobile is still quoting the 3GB limit on an Android pay-monthly contract.

Don't ask for much, do I...
Many thanks
#37
quoted unlimited internet (3gb)

re the phone the reviews for price range are great.
Better camera than san fran 3.2meg and no flash comparred to 5meg with flash.
faster processor plus added bonues of water and scratch resistant.

wildfire is another good choice , camera better quality than defy but screen not as good and slower processor. wildfire does work on android 2.2.
i have wildfire and defy and defy wins for me

hope that helps.
#38
Thanks - that does help. For me the 100 mins, 100 txts is fine - so this is looking like a good deal.

What Phones4U deal? :| this one? http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/motorola-defy-15-32-a-month-300minu/850546 the redemption thing sounds scary... I think this deal sounds better but it has a lower heat rating :|
Is anyone worried about the possible headphone jack problems? I guess since there's warranty its not a big deal. I think I will use the headphone jack (suggested problem causer) rather than avoid doing so and then have it break out of warranty!

Oh thanks. =]

Okay perhaps this is dumb but...
-do I request my PAC code from O2 (and thus cancel) before or after I phone up T-Mobile?
-they are likely to give me this deal just from me phoning whatever T-mobile and me asking to price match the cashback sites? Should I link them to a special deal?
I am such a newb, sorry =[ any help would be appreciated. It took me ages to even find "0800 956 2208" the number used to phone and get this deal? =]
