Just a little heads up that soon enough Orange Retail shops nationwide will be selling the Motorola DEXT for just £149.99 (usually £299).

There has been a recent software update on DEXTS drastically improving the phones functionality, for an Android phone of this quality this is an absolute bargain!

I believe the price change will start from 1st April but am yet to confirm this!

There are a number of other phones going on sales (prices starting from just £4.50!) but the DEXT is an absolute bargain at this price!

*EDIT* Available online with £12 Quidco cashback!

I work for Orange so get the heads up just before the deal goes live. If people are interested (and it is an incredible deal for this price) i'd get in there early as i imagine stock will be fairly limited!

Got one of these - but not impressed to be honest, with questionable build quality; social-networking widgets are flaky at times; tinny-sounding calls; some gaps in the user interface; no multi-touch capability
Maybe they have resolved these issues with the upgrade.

Ha, got one of these for free on a contract and sold it on eBay for £260. Just in the nick of time ;-)

Really nice phone though, quite bulky/heavy but nice.
#11
Anything else going to cleared ? or is it just that one ??
#12
Hi, will it also be same price instore? I really want to get one. Seems pretty good

On Ebay these phones can be unlocked for about £2.
#14
Just got back from work, its instore only at £149.99

To be honest i was expecting it to be hotter than this as it is a bargain!

Other phones on sale include an alcatel at £4.50, samsung C3050 at £19 and Orange Rome at £14.50

I have this phone and i love it. i think this seems like a bargain.

What version of Android does this use and does it come with Google maps navigator?

The spec on the Motorola site says Android 1.5 and nothing about google maps. But Orange tend to 'amend' the software on their phones so the best bet would be to call a store and ask.

It 'maybe' possible to reflash with the vanilla firmware, you can some handsets, not sure about Android though. . .

I'm tempted to buy this, but unsure whether companies like CPW will also offer the phone at a similar price as these will tend to be unlocked. Also, the reviews for this handset seem lukewarm, so in two minds about whether to get this or wait!
#19
I forgot to add heat to the deal though! This is the cheapest I've found so far.
#20
Anyway I went to Orange shop but they ran out of them....Ordered online, also £12 quidco cashback. If you want one be quick because they will go fast!

CPW don't sell this one. The only Moto android phone they sell is the milestone AKA Droid. :)
#22
Hope those who bought it like it! Once again it's a great phone for this price!

:x

If you had one of these you would know that the firmware has been updated. Maybe you should actually try using one before commenting on it, either that or stop ripping stuff off the internet and using it as your own. Some of us actually work at CNET.

Good job. ¬_¬
