The MOTOFONE F3 from Motorola is simple, functional and fashionable.

Normally you need to but a £10 top-up with these PAYG phones however that requirement seems to have been dropped just now so the phone is only £9.99 delivered.

Nope, they arent on Quidco.
#5
Great price but how easy are they to unlock anyone know?
#6
That's a fantastic price for a second/emergency phone, good to stick one in the car and not have to worry about it.
#7
it says this on the site,

£10 top-up now compulsory on all pay as you go phones

does it not count for this phone?

I nearly bought this last time but multiple forums had complaints about the UI and other features.

I HIGHLY recommend playing with this in store before buying, despite only being £10.

Hi again,i bought one of these a few weeks back, although it was cheap i had to take it back as it was a nightmare to use,on the orange website it looks like it has a colour screen but it has not,it is black and white, its ok if your just ringing numbers but when it comes to txts its useless as it only displays a few words on the screen at a time, its like going back to using a motorola startac or mr30 ...not for me as im too used to the basic features you take for granted on modern phones which this does not have...i bough this for my son but even though its basic its very hard to navigate , i know a tenner is not a lot of money and it tempted me to buy one but it will spend most of its time in your draw after a day of use..keep your money in your pocket.....this one was not for me...:x
#12
Thanks - What a great deal :)
#13

#14

#15

I think its User Interface :?

I really would just spend £10 more on the nokia 1600. The motorola is awful to use.

here is an image of the text on screen...

http://www.mobileburn.com/media/motorola/f3/thumb_motorola_motofone_f3-IMG_1064.jpg

its actually a great scren - contrast and battery life are brilliant (it uses a new epaper technology that uses no battery unless hte image changes. It even keeps the image on screen if the battery is removed. However, it is not dot matrix based, and only allows a very limited number of characters on screen at once.

Sorry to be so blunt, but this mobile is the biggest pile of poo ever.

The user interface is rubbish, the new technology mono screen is slow, it talks to you to try and help, please avoid.
#32
are these unlocked? Does anybody know?

Depends what you are after really. It's true the screen is less exciting than it seems and it displays everything in massive calculator fonts (you'll scroll even to read a number in an address book - let alone a text message).

You can turn the talking voice off - but not the bleeping it makes if the phone is locked and it knocks against your keys in your pocket.

On the flip side the battery life is great, it's very loud and it always gets good reception. It looks great (most people struggle to believe it's a real phone) and survives being knocked around a bit/dropping. It's very reminiscent of the mobiles of the early 90s interface/features wise (but in a much smaller form).

I like mine - but it's definitely a bit marmite.

honestly this phone is terrible to use, post this deal again in 1 weeks time when everybody has got one and sit back and watch the negative replys flood in ! I dont know what motorola was thinking when they made this ? they probably used up all the spare parts they had knocking around in there factory from years ago to make this, there is a very good reason why these phones are only £10 ... they are so crap nobody buys them and everyone who does probaly returns them for a refund,a fool and his money are easily parted ( i was a fool who bought one) if someone gave me one i would just use it as a paperweight ! 1/10 :-(
#35
BOught one for me dear ol' ma
THANX

Voted hot.
I've got a red one - great basic phone with a very easy user interface, excellent call (sound) quality and an alarm that will wake the dead + it's almost indistructable.
My red one was on t-mobile but was unlocked - hopefully this one will be too.
Now to find find the blue, silver and rumoured white ones for less than a tenner each and I'll have a matching phone for every outfit :)

It's been posted loads of times already, all positive.

It's a phone, you dial a number in to it and speak to someone.
"Hello, hello, anyone there... ".
Jeez, what are they teaching at school these days.

they dont accept SOLO! DAM!

A PHONE IS A PHONE
it does not need to have a camera, colour screen

Just need to make and receive calls!

I would rather use a carrier pigeon , they sell an actel flip phone at asda on orange for £10 and you dont have to buy any credit and it has a colour screen ! a much better deal ! I dont know what they teach at school these days ? Go get a copy of The National Curriculum if you that interested ...
