Like weather forecasts in the morning, or traffic updates before leaving for work. With Moto 360, just say “Ok Google” and you can set a reminder, send a text, or dictate a note. You can ask for directions or get answers to questions like “what’s my next appointment?” and even the really important ones, like “where is the nearest cafe?”

Only 7% cheaper, hardly a must have. If you were going to buy one, this is good though.

Until apple don't release their watch, wearable tech like this won't catch on.

Agree with EN1GMA.

And would add Apple seem to be offering the same proposition as Google, but shinier - so it will sell.
In the build up to the Apple launch all these other watches RRP will collapse.

For what its worth i started with a Samsung Neo (basic Notifications - but can make calls), then sold up and tried various Sony and Android watches, but all returned for refunds, then a month ago came full circle (nearly) to a Samsung Gear 2 (with camera) - absolutely love it.

Its really what you expect, do you just want a simple notification device or a watch that tries to replace your watch.
For me i wanted the former and went with the Samsung Gear (but decided for me the call function and camera were key)

Yeah, just like when apple were saying large phones will not catch on. Other similar might be quality but until apple don't release theirs, it won't go mainstream.

Apple watch will be easy to over price any info on its pricing? I am guessing 300-400 mark

What?!? Am I missing some hidden joke about Apple not releasing products?

This is actually incorrect... Apple were wrong about bigger phones but clearly saw the market was thriving off this idea spear headed by HTC, Samsung and many other android operated device manufacturers.

My point is the watch perhaps is not catching on although it is slowly... But as for larger displays that did catch on without Apple's help and in fact Apple was forced to go bigger screen otherwise they'd miss out on the big pye.

Got one a while back and I'm very happy with it. I'm not a fan of the apple watch's form factor.

Apple Watch has too many flaws with this version, the charging mechanism is completely wrong. It would be much better with a slot in / slot out battery, charge one, use one. Having to attach the bulky charger to back, prevents third party, charging while wearing spin offs.
Ideally, to go mainstream wearables such as watches need a 7 day battery life, but some clever Watch Apps might sway things for Apple, early on- to gain interest.

Its Halo effect is it has its own ecosystem, but I'm still pretty much unconvinced with Mk1. Sales will be lacklustre, even with the Apple logo on it.

When the Apple watch is released I'm sure that prices for other smart watches will go down or the watches will be improved. Competition pushes for the best ;)

I'm hoping for this but I get the feeling that android watch prices will go up as when the Apple watch comes out android fans won't be going for Apple Watch but rather well be looking more towards android watches.

Just putting it out there.

Hot price on the Moto.

As the iWatch.. Not sure I'd wear a watch with a big digital iKnob. I can't believe Apple couldn't have come up with a better idea.

Only reason Apple products catch on is because they're good at marketing, simples.

For people considering this also consider the LG G watch R. Have looked at options tried the Sony smartwatch 3. (good watch liked and picked up cheap in lightning deal on Amazon france £123) sent it back as seemed faulty mine as my step registered very low in comparison with my existing fitbit trackers which I trust as measured over large distance correct and can watch count up. So found love android wear seems to be getting better too but wanted a circular watch.

I picked up the LG G R like new open box still had some plastic tape on watch. For £150 Inc shipping from amazon France even new at about £185 think it's a better watch.
