Good price but only 8Gb and 1Gb of ram config available?

I'm waiting for Amazon UK to stock it :(

Not sure how that would work, as you would have already paid Three for the 8GB version. They just provide you with a voucher code to put your Moto Maker order through.

My guess is that the Moto Maker site will reject the 16GB option if you use an 8GB voucher code.

There moto maker has the 16gb upgrade as a £30 upgrade, which in theory you could pay on top of your voucher code?

I need one of these!!! Does the phone come with any additional back covers as we were led to believe with all the leaks prior to announcement?

Oh I meant I need the 16GB/1GB configuration. I was looking into getting the LG G3 but that phone will have too much bloatware for my liking

Some versions will be sold with two additional back covers, but it will be retailer specific, just like the older Moto G's.

The 1st Gen 4G on Tesco Mobile came with 2 extra blue coloured backs.
The 2nd Gen 4G from Carphone Warehouse came with 2 extra Blue and Dark Pink coloured backs.

No retailer has specified this for the 3rd Gen in the UK yet though. The leaks were from a carrier selling the phone in Brazil.

In theory yes, it could be possible to pay Motorola the £30 directly. I've just got off the phone with Three and they told me that the 16GB configuration is not an option when using one of their voucher codes. They only sell the 8GB version.

Then this price is for the 8gb version then :)

I know it doesn't mean a lot but would someone be able to do an Antutu benchmark test, just for comparison to the other Moto G models?

Do they have much bloatware ?

Where is the 2gb/16gb model? :(
#19
It'll be just like the rest of the Moto G range and be 99% stock Android. There'll be a few Motorola add ons which will probably be quite useful but other than that it's stock

None. Just a few useful moto apps.

Where is the 2gb/16gb model? :(

On Moto Maker for £210! Ridiculous pricing.

That is why I went for the 8GB / 1GB model, instore and instock :)

Also added a 32gb SD card for £10 (for all the photos to be stored on)

I hope there are some better deals than that RRP. If you are willing to pay that much you might as well pay a bit more for the Moto X Play or an older model Moto X.

I would but really felt the 1gb ram limitation on my 1st gen :(

So will 2gb / 16gb version only be available on / through MotoMaker or will it be coming to shops at a later date?? i would expect like a £20 bump in price for more ram / storage but £70 difference and a total cost of £210 seems hella steep. Moto are really gouging with these prices. :(

No, it will be available to other retailers if they choose to stock it.

Wait, so the new 8 GB version only has 1 GB RAM? What is the point of it? A better camera and that's it? Might as well keep my old one. Oh and it doesn't have stereo speakers any more. Great 'upgrade'.

Just called my local 3 store, they've got the 8gb black in stock for £139.99 and they're holding me one until tomorrow.

I asked clove if they were getting the 16GB and they said that stock of the 16GB is not generally available in the UK. So they can't stock it, even if they wanted to. Maybe it will be exclusive to one retailer other than Moto Maker.

Single SIM. The dual-SIM version won't be sold in the UK.

I don't know about Clove but Amazon France appears to be getting stock http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0123VBWBY/?tag=&ascsubtag=07009g12dlge

At least it will be available to easily import if not UK retailers get the 16GB option.

I suspect the point of it is to push people into paying more money for the £210 2gb / 16gb version.

So you pay more for the 2GB version.
