I recently bought the Motorola Motonav TN760T model which covers UK & Ireland, whilst the kit is very good, really quick at recalculating routes I think there is a question over Motorola's continued support for these devices. The latest map update for the UK is Q3 2009, thats nearly 15 months out of date, the free 3 months speed camera updates is also out of date by what appears to be at least 9 months. If someone knows how to install Tom Tom on this it might be a real bargain.... or then again buy a Tom Tom!

This gets poor user reviews, mainly because advertising keeps popping up on the screen while you are driving.

"Summary: product constantly switched to the promo screen with loud music touting the features of the unit while it was giving turning instructions then had to re enter destination, this occured every 4-5 minutes during the trip, was ready to toss it out the window.the volume was too low even on max setting for driving instruction, phone dropped calls, didnot display street name i was traveling on,was difficult to enter info/destinations,unit has alot of nice features but only some are easy to use and access during a trip, was very dis appointed in the product, had to return, the product may just had too much in it for all to work well together, will purchase another garmin with less features."

TN760t £80 at orange..i brought one last month....
when seraching the post code or address is ok on the list but it always give me a wrong street on the map
it only take me to the post code area , ie i want goto E9 7aa it only show E9 7 on map..so the "aa" is missing .... so end up to the next road.
bluetooth is cool , but my phone doesn't support bluetooth message so can't display sms or send sms.
my old binatone dont have good display but can goto my destination without problem and i think motorola dont support any update Motonav anymore ... so dont waste your money.

We have the 760t from Orange and don't use it for the traffic, so no ads!

It would appear from the USA forums on this that Motorola and its mapmakers have pulled out of certain markets and this device will not be supported by either in the future.

What you buy is what you get and thats it - good mapping, instant start and excellent phone connection.

Our second choice was the Garmin 1340 with EU mapping - hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Hmmmmm. Thought when I looked it said a map update was due in April, so bought one because of this. Upon further investigation, it does not actually state what year so could have been any time!!! https://motonav.naviextras.com/shop/portal/home have a look on the right under the news section.

Anyone reccomend something with same specs???
If this is no good then its off to Ebay me thinks!

BTW, saw the Orange accesories deal but I thought for an extra £20 the European maps was worth it. Read a couple of reviews on this beast and they seemed quite good and that was at £250.

Apparently your in Demo Mode!!!
"Moondog151: Afterthought....I think if you go to "Main Menu"...."Help", you`ll see an option there to 'Exit Demo Mode", activate that area, and you should be good to go....."
