If anyone is wondering how it is £39.70, this is how

£99.99 (before discount)
£20.00 (20% lifestyle discount using code 14000)
--------
£79.99 (after discount)
£2.99 (delivery charge)
--------
£82.98 (including delivery charge)
£8.30 (quidco cashback)
£35.00 (£5 included airtime + £30 airtime vouchers)
--------
£39.68 (final net value).

Sounds close enough raj - only one point I will make: the 10% quidco cashback is usually calculated on the amount before VAT and delivery I believe, so it mayonly be about £6.60, but you don't really know until it tracks and you see how much it is.

Cheers :)

Good point.. I think, quidco cashback is after VAT, not sure about delivery. Few months back I received £1.40 (7%) on a £19.99 handset cost including VAT. It was free delivery then.

Anyone recently used quidco + virgin, could confirm.

Another point, I confirmed this virgin recently, you can convert your PAYG sim to a SIM-only contract and hence get 300 mins + 300 texts for just £15/mth. So, you can use your £35 to fund 2-3 mths usage. may be this is useful for someone.

Thanks for the confirmation alien! It appears I was wrong about the VAT thingy mentioned above then... !

what about their Lobster700TV mobile tv phone on PAYG?
rough calculation = £200 phone -discount -quidco = £144
(with enough phone credit to receive the mobile channels for 7 months past the initial 3 months service), or about £110 for an HTC-made Windows 5 smartphone/DAB radio.

not bad, seriously considering it

or the phone for free on a £20 monthly contract, = £240 for a year's Eastenders and texting...
