I remember my first mobile way back in 1990...my mum bought it for me because my car broke down on the way back from work one evening and I was stuck in the wilderness; £250 from a BT shop and a monthy charge...no screen just green and red flashing lights and a big ariel...aah memories..both sadly now no longer with me.

it is locked!

But can it be easily unlocked? Given that Virgin have (or are about to) hike their PAYG prices I'd rather use Asda mobile.

asda say on their site all asda mobile phones are unlocked see asda site

It is locked to virgin. I've got it unlocked by code which I've bought on fleabay. It costed me £3.17 to unlock it.
It is a very simple and basic phone, but it's OK for calling and texting :-D

great price for a basic and simple phone

Can this phone be used abroad (in Europe)? I want to take a phone on my hols to Crete but don't want to pay lots and a PAYG like this would be great.
