Why would anyone want a mono headset for gaming?

because some people have 5.1 surround sound systems and quite like to hear it?

why would you need anything more than mono for player comms?

its for xbox live so you can hear chat the microsoft one is only one ear piece also and these look like a good replacement as the mic looks longer and more adjustable

Hot, ordered. Costs more for a cheapo copy from the highstreet.
#13
In all seriousness, how do you hear the game audio with this on? I would buy one if I could mix both game and chatter.
#14
Just bought - bizarrely I had some ebay plus+ points that I didn't know anything about, so it worked out even cheaper.

I've only got the standard xbox one and find the plastic uncomfortable, so hopefully this fits better.

Cheers to OP. Still £29.99 at both the Hut and Zavvi.

from your tv or stereo system or you could shell out about £50 for some turtle beach stereo headphones that mix both chat and game audio.
i have owned a set and to me they are not worth the money.

I have owned a set of turtle beach X1's for about 2 years now and when playing games like COD (all iterations), Halo reach and other first person shoot em ups they help soo much. The X1's are also excellent to use to listen to Music, watch TV and Films with. I forgot to mention as well, when playing late night you can have the game sound playing solely through the headphones so you dont wake the wife or anyone else.

Well worth the £37 quid I paid when I purchased them from gameplay.

I suppose it depends what you use them for...

Anyhow, nice find OP, might order one as a backup. Heat Added.

Are these them NFL headsets? If so there really crap. The sound and voice quality are decent but the pads hurt your head after 10 minutes.

there the ones i had wires got on my nerves buzzing when no game sound i know some people got lucky and didnt get the buzzing.
found them painfull to wear after an hour could just be my head though lol
and what you say about late night gaming is ok but you could do the same with a normal set of headphones at a quarter of the price as if its late you wont be talking my missus kills me if i do as i couldnt hear myself and shouted with these on not good for the kids but like i said before i think there not worth the money

Why are these charged at £29.99 on their real website?

Zavvi Link

Hot anyway

I was going to ask if this would be better than my XLC's but I realise that they're just a replacement for the official headset now and they don't carry in-game sound.

I love the XLC's, especially since they work with anything that has a headphone socket, but the in game voice on there is crap unless you turn the game levels down to minimum.

I wish the xbox would allow me to connect my Plantronics headset from pc in there.. would like to get sound and the mic from all one unit!

I have just received mine and tried them.. I like the quality of the headset but the battery life in on my controller has been crucified.. As soon as I plug the headset in I lose 2 bars. In an hour of gaming I went through 4 batteries.

Anyone else had this issue? I have googled it but it does'nt seem to be a common fault
#35
Received mine and get a very slight hissing noise when I turn up the volume three quarters of the way or higher. Anyone else noticed then same?

Thanks
#36
Mine buzzes like crazy unless the volume is on minimum and at the slightest move it crackles loads
