Thats not technically true, if you root your xoom and install a AOSP/AOKP rom, they get updated as soon as the google android source gets updated

Thats the ticket there. Once tax is added, it'll prob be around the 200 quid mark, running jellybean. I would stay clear of any tablets until its released.
