If the price falls for the Xoom 2 32GB to £249, in my view, would be a good buy.

I'm not to hopeful of that happening as the wifi version is now £249.99 online @ CPW, but they have no stock.
Personally I prefer the larger screen on the Xoom's 10" screen than the 7" screens of the Flyer or Playbook.
I was hoping to pick up that standard Xoom for £199 or £249.99, but not sure if they will get any more stock.
A second android table would be good to meet family demand, but regardless of the size I will not be tempted by anything over £200

you cannot wait for something what is not in stock and propably never going to be back

Doubt that will happen, £250 is a great price for a Xoom and not many people will know about the £199 error, CPW will sell out before they need to make another price drop.

Thanks for your advice but I can wait. I went into CPW yesterday and they had stock. It was in-store so maybe more limited than online but they definitely had them (32GB wifi only which is what I want and quoted in my original post). I looked at one and they said they had plenty left. Other threads are quoting CPW staff as saying there are 800 plus left at central store, others that CPW staff have said the price will drop further in a few days, so I'm happy to wait.
By January I'm confident that after price drops there'll be a tablet which meets my needs for £200...it's getting closer every few days.

249£ is really good price but the reason behind why those deals are cold is CPW behaviour, they promised 199£ on official advert and on the day they strangly changed their offer (due to high demand) and drop the price to 'only' 249£, by looking how this is going to be sell (sold out online and over the phone) there is a low chance to drop the price further to 199£, to be honest I don't think motorola still manufacturing this model as Xoom 2 is around.
If you wanna get this cheaper than 249£ I would advice you to do price match with currys or pc world, you could save it 10%
PCworld/Curry price matched so went there.

i hope this isn't true, because to be honest i don't want the newer version, don't like the cut off looking corners, but most of all i hate that the memory is non expandable. what a ridiculous oversight. really hoping that someone will sell the original xoom at sub £200, as really don't want/can't spend more than that. to be honest this wasn't even on my list to get, but had a play on one at pc world, and thought it was the best one in there.

I didn't read Tim_UK comments that way. He has a point. The demand for the Ipad is so strong I cannot see that Apple have any need to massively reduce prices. However, with quad core Android tablets set to be released over the next few months I would not be surprised if the current dual core tablets will have to be massively reduced in price
