tempted now my Asus Eee Pad order has slipped to June! How are Currys with returns?
#2
Worth noting that the normal price is £480 and a brand new device, so getting a discount early!

Yep, this is bound to start dropping once all the other tablets start hitting the shelves. Love to get one but at that price I personally think it's at least a 100 quid too much right now.

Aye I'm very tempted - that being said - the cheapest you can get it right now...

Unopened? Im gonna want to try it.....I guess it'll be 7 days distance selling. Im only wondering as Ive used the ipad and know its good but want to get away from Apple eco-system. Wanting to dabble in the Android pond, just not sure this tablet is any good.

They may have it instore to try out mate. Won't give you much of a 'go' of it but it'll give you some idea.

+1 : Not sure what Motorola are thinking entering a market at a higher price than the market leaders rival product (iPad 2 starts from £399). By setting a price of say £380 they could've stood a chance especially with Apple's supply problems and Samsung's dithering. They will enevitably have to reduce this over the next few months so why not do it straight away and get a head start on the competition.

Here Here, I ve read some positive reviews of the hardware.. OS still pretty buggy, but its the cost thats gonna kill this guy... good newz is it will come down... all good things to those who wait !

Id read the Asus Transformer is better spec'd and cheaper than the Xoom but the stock shortage is going to effect there efforts to take market share. By the time these companies get there act together there will be loads of tablets coming to market including the iPad 3 rumor mill.

I agree with the comments about how Moto have got it wrong with the Xoom pricing but they will already be working on Xoom 2 so who knows.....

Im a little concerned it will start to get like the Android phones and updates will be forgotton while newer hardware is worked on to try and beat each other with specs. Look at how Samsung and Sony handle there products. Samsung Tab anyone......Dell streak (I like the streak alot but the music player was crap and the sound quality is the worst ever)?

I was hoping the Playbook would be killer but like windows 7 it will take over a year before we see a polish coming to OS. Im still surprised no-one is making a device that is ahead of Apple and at a lower price. The big companies should be prepared to take on a huge financial hit to take on Apple with a killer device.

Not sure why people are voting cold as it's the cheapest currently available, so hot from me.

After playing with both I do however prefer the Acer A500 which is £449 with identical specs @Currys.

Just come back from Currys and I have to say Im impressed, its just a slick and responsive as the ipad. Couldnt guage the weight as the device had a heavy alarm locked on it. Camera app didint seem to work and of course there was no internet connection (these stores should really let these devices connect to see how they work).

Overall Im impressed and once price drops more I think I will purchase as a good rival to ipad.
