I know it's a refurb but it's quite a good price for the 3G model if you're after a Xoom and Morgan are a pretty good company to deal with.

Turns out it isn't 3G. Not that good a deal now.
Sorry

Anyone know if u can make 3g calls or send sms ? Or any custom Roma that can do this on the 3g model?
#3
Jelly bean builds already out for this! It should get an official OTA build from google too as its a developer device

Probably being a bit ambitious but I can't convince myself that the Xoom is still worth £200.

A great tablet but £170 all in would tempt me more.
#6
what does the refurb involve? is it just a customer return that is cleaned up and sold, or has it developed a fault that has been repaired (how long will that last?) good price though, i just prefer to not have a refurb in case the fault develops again
#7
Condition: Grade A refurbished
Warranty: 3 Months warranty

i might pop down to the store to see if they have any their only tempting thing is that its 3g enable otherwise for the price its not so hot
#8
The issue with this tablet is the screen becomes unresponsive due to a short caused by a cable connecting to a metal plate.

Its a silly fault/design for Motorla otherwise very good tablet. I need to take one apart to fix it for a firend.

great price and the MZ604 is due ICS soon I think.

WARNING

I don't think it is the 3G version. MZ604 is Wifi-only, whereas MZ601 is 3G. Plus there is no mention of 3G in the descriptions.
#11
I'd rather get the Xoom 2 which is currently £249 in carphone warehouse...
would love to share a link, but the website is down

Is 1280x800 resolution more suited to a 10.1" screen, like the Xoom, or a 7" screen like the Nexus 7?

Who needs SD cards with cloud storage... i kid of course, sd card slot would be handy, but with Moto cast (only on Xoom 2) you can stream everything from your home PC wherever you are as long as you have an internet connection... plus the battery life on the xoom 2 is amazing!!

My advice, once you know it is working properly GEDify it as outside of the states it is NOT a google experience device
Motorola UK are shocking at kicking out updates.

I did mind at the weekend, takes 5 mins, dead easy and i have had 4 (i think) updates which have not made it to the uk yet, and am expecting JB to drop within a month.

I did lose almost all my saved data however which is why I suggest you do it before you spend too much time on games etc. apparently ICS allows you to back this up, where as Honeycomb does not.

ICS is coming "soon" for the UK, but then it has been coming "soon" for the uk for months now.

The screen on it is no ipad 3, but I am very pleased with mine.

Edit....

Actually I did not realise this was a 3G device. Am not sure if you can GEDify the 3G one :/

Link does say it is 3g, which means this is a excellent deal, my only concern is what condition it will be in!

I agree, but lots of people don't have that constant ability to stream from an internet connection. What about at work?

Yep, the Xoom does have.

We were talking about the xoom 2

The xoom has a sd slot, the xoom 2 doesn't. He was referring to the xoom 2

So much this, did it at the weekend. Not difficult, PM me if interested. Updated to Official ICS right now and Jelly Bean to follow shortly, all OTA - Over The Air.

Love this tablet. slight downside is that it's a little heavy but there is loads of support and it comes with bluetooth/GPS.

BARGAIN.

I wouldn't bother with Motorola again due to lack of support. In US they have had latest ics since Jan and yet Motorola said we in Uk will get it in May/June well its July now. Its a nice tablet though cant fault it

I am going to use mine as a sat nav later this week, have a car mount for it

I gave up on waiting for motorola.

GEDified my xoom last night. The one thing to be aware of is that the usb lead you use should probably be the lead that comes with the xoom and you should connect it to the fastest usb slot on your pc. I thought mine was bricked at one point because it was stuck at the boot screen and the pc wouldn't recognise it! Stuck the lead in a different usb port and got it working.

Also I saw a comment that if the pc didn't recognise it or 'adb devices' didn't show anything it was bricked. Wrong. fastboot worked regardless. This may not mean much to you now but if you Gedify it it will.

Last thing, it's very reflective, think mirror. An anti reflective screen protector totally sorts it though, can recommend the ecell one (which was in turn recommended by someone else on another of these xoom threads)

Absolute bargain!

You're kidding aren't you. Love my xoom but it's no lightweight so it will have to be one hell of a rubber sucker. More importantly, are you sure you will be able to see out through the windscreen? ;-)

Paid £224 at Christmas brand new. It's a great tablet but not worth nearly the same reconditioned.

Not a deal without the 3G, a peg under £200 for a second hand Xoom with only 3 months guarantee, no thanks.

OP or Admin you need to change the description and remove reference to 3G.

Hi

thereve been lots of comments re 3g and morgan have confirmed this isnt the 3g model, MZ601 is 3g, MZ604 is wifi only.

it is still an very good deal though for a tablet of this quality, and options to customise it....

motorola UK support in providing updates is appalling tho,

BUT, as 'manbag' said if you have the MZ604 model i would definitely turn it into a GED device its very easy to do and gives you the latest Andriod updates, and the promise of jellybean to come in then next few weeks too (directly from google not motorola)

If you do have the 3g version (mz601) there is an 'official' ICS update by a sly route, just download the Telefonica MZ601 rom from Motorola's web site and install that, you will then get updated to ICS 4.04 automatically. This way you get fullt working 'offical' ICS rom, rather than using one of the many developer custom roms of which there are many to chose from too . The only adjustment you need to make is to set the timezone back to GMT.

take a look on the xda-developers web site for more info, it is really very simple to do.

shame that they don't do student or nhs discount, would have considered it if they did. as it stands, around £200 is still too much to pay for a refurbished xoom i reckon

There have been brand new ones with a 12 month guarantee available for not much more money, this one has only got 3 months cover.

Because you can instantly access sooooo many films/mp3s/apps via the cloud when you don't have wifi or 3g available can't you :{

totally agree, I only think that it reach this temperature because of the 3G element, which has now been removed.
