Starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as the eponymous Mr. & Mrs. Smith - in one of 2005's most entertaining and explosive blockbusters.

After five (or six) years of vanilla-wedded bliss, ordinary suburbanites John and Jane Smith (Pitt and Jolie) are stuck in a rut the size of the Grand Canyon - until the truth comes out! Unbeknownst to each other, they are both lethal, highly paid assassins working for rival organizations. When they discover they're each other's next target, their secret lives collide in a spicy, explosive mix of wicked comedy, pent-up passion, nonstop action and high-tech weaponry that gives an all-new meaning to "Till death do us part!"

Watched 3/4 of this the other night - just got fed up with it - Thought it was dreadful.
(I have also got this on dvd - still sealed I think bought about 2 years ago and never opened) - Someone can have it for £2.50 if they want it....

Very poor movie. One of very few movies I stopped watching before the end.

Would not pay anything for it.

But I understand that this site is about the deal, and not about what I feel about the movie, so did not vote.

I really enjoyed the film, its not meant to be serious, if you take it as a light hearted laugh its very entertaining.

Rather than hundreds of people commenting on how good or bad the movie is, on an average of 65,000 people, they rated it 6.4/10 on imdb.com. Anything > 6.0 is usually worth a watch,

IMDB also has an average rating of 6.4 for The Golden Compass which is also a very poor movie.

Don't believe the numbers.

This is your opinion on this movie (which I agree with), but it's irrelevant really, what a few people think about films, when you can get an average of 30,000 or 60,000 people. Using the imdb rating system is the most reliable method for gauging how good a film is (I think).

I've watched loads of 7+ or even 8+ rated films that I hated (donnie darko, american beauty), but the fact is the majority of people liked them.

And before anyone says it, pressing on the votes in imdb will split them down by sex and age, so you can get an even more accurate idea of if you'll like it.... for example, females under 18 gave Mr & Mrs smith 7.4/10.

You're right. It's all a matter of opinions. But, voting systems don't always work.

If when voting, people were reminded that the best film ever has an average rating of 9.1, would 6,314 people have voted this movie a 10? Do 10% of all the people who voted on this movie believe that this movie is the best movie they have ever seen, or did they just flippantly click 10?

One voter even says "I'm NOT saying it's the best movie ever made in the history of all movies, BUT, it was pretty good nonetheless" and goes on to vote it 9/10. I wish he would go on to explain what score he would give the best movie ever made. Pretty good gets 9/10. So if good is 10/10, what is excellent? What is THE best movie you have ever seen?

Voting systems don't work. And this getting an average of 6.4 is a shining example of this.
