I presume domain name is included for 1 or 2 years. After that you would need to pay. So, be careful what domain extension you choose. They all have different prices between £2.50 and £30 p.a.

And what are the ongoing hosting fees?

per year

as per thier web site

Nothing there that you cant get for a LOT less seperately. Plus the renewal cost for a <1GB hosting space is criminal.

Has to be cold from me I'm afraid.

Depending on extension and hosting features that's a shocking amount for annual renewal, i'm sure someone on here could do much better :whistling:

Another example of someone trying to suck you in with a cheap starting price. This is freeeeezing.

Well put it this way - Dreamhost will do roughly the same price annually (about £80-90 depending on exchange rate) for unlimited bandwidth and storage space...with a lot more features.

you will end up with a bad website, impossible to move later if you so wish and the content will be lost unless you are prepared to copy paste.

You can buy hosting much more cheaply than this (even £30 per year) and with more features.

This is a case of buy cheap and buy twice (at least) . Sorry.

How do you think they make their money?

employ a proper web designer and you should get professional development and a site that works in all major browsers and can be changed as it grows over time.

if u have a mac try RapidWeaver if you really want to go this route and get your own cheap hosting.

These "do it yourself" packages are a nice idea, but could seriously damage your brand and online presence. If you want something doing right, get a web designer or development company to do it.

Also, as a side note. Don't be fooled by these "unlimited" space and/or bandwidth hosts either. That too is a bit of a scam. Nothing is really free or unlimited. You get stuck on servers that are shared and over-sold and it ends up in your site being slow or going down all the time.

As a Web Developer myself I have used many hosting companies and researched many of these "rival" companies and ideas. What I have learnt is you get what you pay for :-)
