Is it ok to put a system boiler in and lose the F&E tank lose the pump out of the airing cupboard as it can be noisey but keep the open vented big cold water storage tank!

Then at a later date put in an unvented cylinder if i want to?

Thanks OP - I am in the market for a boiler atm.
Just wondering with such a big property would Combi be the system of choice?
Did you consider a system boiler?
Get an unvented system no tanks apart from the hot water cylinder! I will be in the market soon and have a baxi bacelona!
As people say was recommended by installers etc... I Only moved in last year but the boiler had so much maintenance and still locks out etc... I went online sufferes the worst problems!
Looks like gas enginners were recommending it but after a few years once it had been discontinued it was one of the most unreliable boilers! Worst thing is if you haven't realised it has cut out the pump still goes round so you think you have hot water only to find out that you don't! When you reset it it still might not light but by punching it by the pcb board it will light then work for a bit then lock out!
Don't be sucked in by recommendations as someone said on here engineers will install what they are used to/know nothing wrong with that but do your research before parting wit a grand! People seem obsesed with combis i know vented systems seem to be out of date but if you have the space keep it as you only need a heat only boiler! Unvented I belive you need a systems boiler but you can fit this with a vented system too! (Let me know if i'm wrong) Unvented is good for big houses all the tanks go and the hot water will be mains pressure! Also if it goes wrong you got that useful immersion to heat the hot water! On combis you'll be usin the kettle. (Done research but if anyone kniws anything else then please add)
And to the bloke that spoke about benifits my mum is on pension credit because she didn't get a full pension because of bringing up kids! She got an ECO which is paid for by energy company profits not the government! She paid £315 for a valliant and removal of tanks etc... Check your facts before accusing everyone of being lazy! I work too by the way and my tax bill is £600 a month so I know how you feel but direct it towards the guilty ones do not generalise!
Tax bill of £600 a month! You must be a gas engineer??
Broxy
ive said it before and i'll say it again buy a viessmann...but it will probably cost you double this is lol

+1
I'm so glad I went for a Viessmann combi!!!

Still got to pay a gas safe engineer to fit it.

Even though owned by Vaillant I wouldn't touch them I've had terrible service from them

hence different brands.
I've had excellent service from baxi
not really a deal as this is their normal price
Have mulled over a new boiler for a while now and Mr.Central Heating is my 1st stop for pricing, have tried pricing elsewhere and can't buy it cheaper especially as I have biggish rooms and would opt for the larger radiator sizes, if you had a smaller property there packages actually work out more expensive than buying smaller radiators elsewhere.

Speaking to various plumbers, boiler efficiency on a new install should be 90% +, this one is a tad lower at 89%, but is A rated.
