Erm. How is this a bargain? It's very expensive for a motherboard given that motherboards generally only contribute a maximum of 3% or so extra performance if all other components are identical.

That's a lot of cash for not much improvement. Or am I missing something here?

I don't know if it's a good price or not - I suspect prices will fall quite quickly. However, it is the first full speed SLI solution for socket 775 CPU's. Given that the socket 775's are the fastest CPU's around at the moment, it has always been a bit limiting that you couldn't fully utilise SLI to go along with the extra processor speed. Consequently, if you are building a high end rig - this board or an equivalent will be the board to go for.

Not going to appeal to many people but a good deal nonetheless. no point voting cold without considering spec against other mobos.
Thanks to OP.

Nice deal on the Asus. I think this is the same board.

Mr. Velvet - May people are after the EVGA one at the moment. The MSI board is identical but cheaper... hence the post!

The ASUS looks like a good deal, but i've seen news on a new Foxconn 680i non reference design which may rival the current 680i boards on offer. It looks sweet!
