What about Sleeping Dogs?

Out of interest, how would this card compare with my 6950 2GB Twin Frozr III?

What about Sleeping Dogs?

It would ravage it. Easily.

Awesome card for the money. I would buy this over a 560 Ti.

I've heard that this actual card is a bit on the noisy side, but if that doesn't bother you then it's great.

This card out performs NVIDIA cards in this price range.
Its a good card for the price and will play most modern games no problems.

Its abit noisy but turn up your speakers while gaming and youl be okay ;)

Got one myself and unless you push it hard it's very quiet.

I bought this back in May for £190. It's a great deal for this price. I've had no trouble running, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, L4D2, Battlefield 3 and Saints Row 3 on max settings with excellent frame rates.

It's also got a Windows Experience rating of 7.8 out of 7.9 for Gaming Graphics if that means anything to anyone =P

Mine idles around 30c and has gotten upto about 70c. It's pretty damn quiet too.

He means does it come free with it as it did with previous offers which makes it cheaper if you sell it on.

My HD 4890 rates at 7.4 in windows experience. I think they need to set that bar higher for future tech

A better card, generally the Power Editions are more expensive, triple voltage, different PWM etc, basically just means it'll overclock better/more stable.

Plus it looks way more awesome than the twin frozr III :)

Well spotted MoobearHD! The Power Edition has a faster GPU clock speed and idd has better cooler..etc.
What I don`t understand is why the twin frozr is £171 on Scan ???

Also for those of you that are confused between the different MSI 7850 cards. Look here

EDIT - I think Scan have messed up guys. I think the Twin Frozr should have been £155 & the Power Edition £171....

You could buy an Xbox360 for this price!

To clear up any confusion I can confirm that the Power Edition spotted by MooBearHD is indeed the better deal.

To make things even sweeter Scan have mispriced the better 7850 Power Edition as £155.74 on their main site here

This Power Edition is also available from Scan on Ebay here with a voucher for Sleeping Dogs

Or if you prefer you could go with kw905 & purchase the HIS HD 7850 2GB Version for £149.99 which is currently on offer from Overclockers. This card is not OC out the box so core speed is slower at 860Mhz & comes with Free games....available here (Use code QUIDAMDGFX for free copies of Sleeping Dogs, Nexuiz and Dirt Showdown and free delivery.)

Hope this helps ;)

...is there any other kind of download?

Scan also have the power edition GTX 670 at £302, way cheaper than anywhere else. I have done a credit check and everything and tempted to get it on pay break. :p One click away, heart telling me no.

LOL! that card is a monster. Do you really need all that power !!?? :|

No, haha, but it'd last me ages. :) My 6970 broke a few weeks ago, so i'm on an old trusty backup 8800GT which such a downgrade it's pretty fuzzy playing bf3!

For that money you could get a 7870 and it'd be my choice.

I'm just speccing a PC right now - minutes away from clicking 'buy'.

Was thinking 660ti but Scan's price for the 7850 is very good. Certainly better value.

Very tempted to get it myself (the 7850). I was going to hold off but if it's a mis-price... erg.

Decided to just get the MSI 7850 anyway, it's a good price and I'm happy enough, fit in the budget.

Hope you get a good overclocking one, you can really get some excellent speed out of them.

I got this card for the same price and place a month ago and I haven't really had a good experience with overclocking. I heard that this was an overclocking beast, but I can only get a very slight one before it freezes while running furmark (and I've tried with two cards as I returned the first for a replacement).

Thanks, just had a look and the price has been changed to £175.99, so guessing it was a mis-price after all! However, last I checked the Ebay price for Scan was the same, so you may be able to snap one up for the lower price.

Edit - Ebay price also changed, I wouldn't buy at the higher price personally.

Upped for voltage enough?

I only did a 1050 clock, so the voltage shouldn't need changing, right?

Na for 1050 it shouldn't, at least that's what I've found in general from reading about the 7850.
