I'm wondering if this is considerably better than the EVGA 1gb Nvidia GTX460 I bought from scan 'today only' this morning on today only for £138 delivered???

GTX460 v HD5850

The 5850 should beat it overall but if you've bought the Super SC 460 with the 763/1526 clock/ram the gap will be a bit smaller.

Cheers for that. Yeah I got the super clocked one. Interesting comparison but I think the 10 year warranty of the EVGA swayed it for me! Granted the card will be out of date technology within 3 years but it's still nice to have. My friend had his AGP 9700 Pro die on him recently and that was a £250 card in it's hay day!!!

This is a good price for a 5850 but there are three reservations.

i). Overclockers have trully aweful Customer Service. They have also taken additional money off of my credit card before without request or authorisation. AVOID them like the plague. They only refunded this when I raised a dispute with my credit card company.
ii). The twin-forza heatsink runs hotter and louder than the reference 5850 heatsink.
iii). This card does not allow voltage adjustment so overclocking will be poor.
