I bought one of these last time round for £263

It didn't work. Getting the refund was a very time consuming process, I had to make a paypal complaint that only got resolved due to Argos not replying. I'm seriously doubting even using Argos again on the high street.

Great price if it works. But be carefull of the awfull aftersales service. It's virtually none exsitant.

good spec for the price for 17.3 laptop. Celeron dual core T3100 is good cpu for price and 8200M graphics should run older games and newer ones with detail down a bit as long as you have better luck than steamy wee?

damn just bought the CR500 last night, been hesitating for a while about buying refurb from argos on ebay, heard some people saying their refurbs arriving in mint as new condition, but now a bit worried again about what Steamy had said, argos clearance says their refurbs are in "A1 Condition", so if it doesn't arrive like that then I'll try everything to send it back.

"Intel Celeron dual core T3100" - my knowledge of processors is basic, but I consider "Celeron" bad and "dual core" good. Would this play BBC iPlayer HD smoothly?

benchmarkes are quite good about the same as the intel core2 duo E6400 2.13ghz faster than a lot of non celeron processors
.Just because its a celeron dont think its slow there just cutdown version of a cpu may be a very fast one so some are very fast should play iplayer easy.So dont think of celeron bad just great value ps there are some really slow celerons though watch out
Graphics not bad for price as well gf 8200 with 256mb dedicated memory

I would imagine one of the refurbs they are selling is the one I sent back. It's was in mint as new condition, but didn't work. I just got unlucky I think. Although, there is no making up for the ultra poor aftersales service I received.

Ohh the other thing I noticed on the machine. The door that you have to take off to upgrade the memory had one of those stickers across it saying "Warranty void if removed" Hmm...

Yes it will, modern computers are more than powerful enough for the average user. Currys and PC World will tell you that you need a quad core for multitasking or multimedia for example, as long as you don't listen to those idiots you're half way there.

For the type of user this laptop is aimed at there's probably little reason to upgrade beyond 2GB initially.

Yes I am using my CR700 at the moment. Arrived in 'As New' condition. I love it, the HD Screen is superb and it does everything I need (Dont play games so cant tell about that) Have used the HDMI output to the HD TV for VLC playback of Xvid films - Super!

The only minus (same as other MSIs like my Wind Netbook) is that the touchpad is way tooo sensitive, but I use a cheap usb opt mouse which solves that

bought one of these first time round supposed to be refurbished but had faulty cpu fan that should have been picked up.
No chance of getting any replys from emails all complaints must be telephoned in.
was without a computer for over a week whilst it was being repaired. this fault proved to me that they hadnt even looked at the 'refurbished' comp. as anyone would have noticed the fault. Now fixed and working well but inconveinienced, Left negative feedback for no communication or apology.

Surely stealing one would be even cheaper?
What a terrible reason for voting this deal cold (a better reason would be the non-existant after sales service).

They must have fixed the problem, the touch pad on my CX705MX is perfect.
