Too much for a 1060

Sorry but thats freezing! The 1060 is supposed to be a midrange mainstream part (albeit at the higher end). Since when has the midrange option been nearly £300? Round it's release GTX1060 6GBs were about £230 at best and I'd say that is what they are worth, I wouldn't pay a penny more and anyone that does is giving manufacturers and retailers a big green light to fleece us.

Utterly crazy pricing. If graphics card pricing continues like this there will be a mass exodus to consoles, which will be a shame but not undeserved!

Good price for this particular brand/model which is technically what you should be voting on but I totally agree that this is overpriced for a midrange card. I haven't voted either way.

christmas run-up , still in limited supply, so price-gouging running wild . Lets see what these sell for after xmas . not voted tho as this may be a deal under current circumstances.

That's what I thought. Only PC World/Currys and Amazon doing that particular model at that price.

And on scan it's classed as "high end".

But you guys are most likely correct, probably still too much.

Not sure what to do about this now. I just bought £250 worth of Currys vouchers for £225 using Lloyds Trustcard points specifically to get this deal but these posts are making me think again.

Finally upgraded all components of PC in April apart from GPU. Went on advice to wait for new cards to come out to get a 970 GTX cheaper. Now new GPU's are out the recommendation is to wait til these prices come down lol.

Arg!!

I think you should wait till the successor to volta comes out. By then, these cards wiil be much better price/performance....

If you have this mentality then you'd always be waiting. Really, it's up to you whether the card you have can tide you over till the prices improve or the lack of performance on your current card makes a purchase a must have. This brand/model has a great cooler but is it worth £50 more than the 1060 posted yesterday? Personnally, this model is my favourite on the market but for £50 extra it's a hard sell.

Footnote: I'm waiting till the 6GB 1060's hit the £170-£180 pricepoint.

Great advice thanks. I'm currently playing Black Ops 3 free this weekend on Steam and my 7850 is running everything on low. The game looks a bit crap albeit playable.

Might just bite the bullet and pay the extra when the vouchers come through.

Surely a long wait for the 1060 to be sub £200 never mind £170?? I'm

Yup, it will probably take about a year. I was just about to make an edit though and add "unless I start playing games that render my GTX 660 Ti woefully inadequate".

the 3gb 1060 range has come along and bumped the price of their 6gb versions up, that and lot of retailers are out of stock of certain models.

Been looking at buying one also and its a bit crazy currently, just a case of resisting while its like this.

Not voted eitherway on this also.

Does 138 mean 138 people think this is junk?

If so I'll just get my coat. ..

To be honest, I have no idea how many points you get per vote but it could well be that 138 MORE people (now 157) voted cold compared to hot. Maybe someone here knows.

200 may have voted cold and 38 voted hot as I get alerts to say some have voted hot

Don't worry about it. I'd just avoid posting GPU deals in future tbh.

They are one of the hardest things to get heat here (look my post history - only two deals have gone cold for me in months and those are GPU's).

Its because you will always get console peasants that vote them cold because "you can buy a PS4 for less", and then you have the salty ones who waited for these current gen GPU's for months/years and are left annoyed and frustrated because they aren't as good as they thought they'd be and weren't half the price they were released at.

Or it could be because you can buy a Palit 1060 6GB for £239.99 from Scan.

Or just write '1060' in hukd search and see what comes up anything lower than your price means you shouldn't post.

But that's like saying I'm not paying £20k for the Audi A3 Quattro because the regular Audi A3 is only £15k surely?

Hoping someone sees this:

If you were me and were sitting with £250 Curry's/Pc World vouchers. Which card would you get baring in mind I'm happy to add money if it's worth it:
