This deal is £20 more than the Palit GTX 1070 deal also posted on this site, but I think this is a nice alternative deal worthy of consideration, it's in stock right now, unlike the Palit card which is "Item currently awaiting an ETA" and it comes with an extra year of warranty (3 vs 2 years).

I have the 1080 version of this card. Sound and temp levels are epic.
I actually ordered this card but the shop sent a 1080 by accident. Loving life.

I ordered an OG GTX Titan from nVidia UK and they sent me a Pascal TX one. Loving life.

I ordered a new Ford Ka and Ford sent me a new GT by mistake. They haven't noticed yet. Loving life.

Im slowly failing to resist buying a 1070 until the prices are cheaper .

Whether this is the price that you bite at or not, this is a good card and a good price for the card. It's one step below their Gaming X line, but itself is still a very good card.

I pre-ordered the 1060 Asus from Amazon. Still on awaiting stock. Its a 150 quid more but the longer I'm waiting the more desperate I get. Not that I really really need it.

Not sure how I can prove it lol

1070 is a great card, I grabbed one to drive my new 21:9 monitor, but at 1440p you do actually need at least the 1070 to run it and not compromise graphics quality.

Picture of the order stating the 1070 plus the 1080 that you received. Maybe a little sticker saying hotukdeals :)

I have been contemplating this card even though I have a 1080, im less intensive resolution now (2560x1080) compared to 3440x1440 I was on, not sure what to do.. could nab this and pocket £250

Absolutely would go for it. 1080 is terrible value in comparison and will plummet should a 1080Ti be released or AMD manage to compete at the high end.

looks nice if back plates happen to take your fancy and or dissipate a little extra heat from the memory chips I'd imagine, but apart from that not much

Also reduces/ eliminates GPU sag from what I've read. Don't know whether it's true.

Yeah, just trying to lessen the surprise upon opening it, if bought. Annoying how most sites don't posts pics of the back of the card (i.e. the part that we actually see in most cases!).

You guys should stop giving into this monopoly, this is £100 higher than it should be like the previous gens RRP around £280.

Would like to see AIB (non-blower) 1070s in the 320 - 350 range. And the most premium ones topping out at 375. Not sure why they can't sell this at 360 like the Palait.

MSI have admitted they are having problems with the 1070 at the moment so would avoid an MSI card at the moment.
#30
BTW: it doesn't have a backplate.
#31
As far as I remember Palit had problems with the JetStream as well. So there is no cheap 1070 that would not die on you in a short period of time :D (Or whatever happens to these faulty ones...)

Whats bargain price for 1080 would be?

Bit of a gamble going msi for a 1070, I believe there are issues with the micron memory on some of them. Besides my bias against them after being stuck with a 280x from them where they wouldn't resolve screen flicker and artifacting (most other companies resolved it with a new bios) up until then I've always gone with and highly recommended MSI, I'm sure they don't care but I'll never buy or recommend them again.

I ordered a garden shed but they sent me the keys to a condo in dubai! Loving life!

I may have been tempted to buy this card if the starting price was the same as what the 970 started out at, but it's quite a long way from that

The micron memory issue is only that they don't overclock as high as the samsung modules.

Take the bird away or buy this?

:{ If you even have to ask that question you need to seriously get your priorities in order.

I mean who in their right mind would even contemplate depriving themselves and their loved ones of some glorious framerates?

The things some people come out with (_;)

Could well be, Must admit I didn't read into it too much just that there was an issue.
