950m was later upgraded to the graphics chip used in a 1990s gameboy. Gaming laptop this ain't.
For people who have a life, this is ok for gaming every now and then. Not for people who think games are real life! ;)

Just because it says gaming doesn't mean it is a good gaming laptop
Nvidia 950M is the GPU
You are probably looking at 30fps on high. Might be able to get decent fps on medium or low but I mean you are buying a new laptop you want better then that?

Well, i'm pretty cool with it though I think there is many more amazing lapts out in the market. So far, I'm OK with it on playing Starcraft, Dota 2, Forza Horizon 3, even infinite warfare ~ But guys, thanks for comment ;)

Would this be good for Lightroom?
To be honest, I've never try it with Lightroom. By just looking at the system requirements for Lightroom. It should be fine ;)

Have you already bought the laptop? If not what was it about this laptop you liked? Was £600 your max budget?

This is actually good value. If anyone can offer an alternative with a better gpu at this price, please share.

At this price I'd rather Trump up the extra for the medion erazer on deal at Argos. OK it's 850 after code but the 1060 gpu is so much faster it's not funny.

I'm not sure it is - If I had phrased it "A GTX950M isn't much good for gaming" then I assume you wouldn't be upset.

My 4-yr old Alienware M17x R4 with GTX 680M could probably outperform this.

no its not. it's totally accurate. a 950m is not by any means worthy of being called a gaming card. Your comment is significantly more useless.

Well I have a 950m , can run most things on 1080p , just not on ultra settings and you have 30+ fps , if you want 60 you lower a few more things, honestly its not the card thats the problem but the cooling in my opinion. I keep my tea/hot chocolate warm by putting it in the path of the fan (no, not close enough to block the normal air flow before some smart ass tries to be a smartass) and yea all the cooling peripherals in the summer.

it will play any game without a problem. and it's a laptop

so yes, it's a gaming card.

Sentences should begin with a capital letter...

To make matters worse this is the 950M with DDR3 memory. At least look for a model with GDDR5.

If it helps, I have an MSI 'gaming' laptop, and it runs games pretty well. Same GTX950M as this, slower CPU. Infinite Warfare runs at full HD with most of the eye candy turned on (but low textures, only a 2gb card in mine). Averages 42 fps on multiplayer. Yes, there are faster cards, but please don't criticise this unless you have experience of it.

It does but feedback in the thread from people who've got it is its not that bad a screen and the keyboard is good which is rare on a laptop these days. if it had a 6700 instead of 6300 I'd probably have got one.
