Why would anyone buy a laptop for playing serious games?
#2
It's a luxury.
#3
It has hdmi out so can hook up to a plasma or lcd and takes up less space than a tower, also portable as maybe wanted for multiple reasons

A nob extension is a luxury; this is not.

Doesn't invalidate my example of what an actual luxury is.

Wasn't invalidating your suggestion, just defining the word 'luxury' and applying it to the laptop after someone asked why someone would buy it - because it's a luxurious purchase, rather than an essential one.

A nob extension would also fulfill that requirement.

Hang on a sec... what train journeys take up to 20 hours?
I mean yeah the rail companies have gone a bit rubbish since privatisation, but seriously - what train journey would take 20 hours?

*waits for people to sneakily consult the wiki*
tum tee tum.

Isn't it like one train to somewhere in london like Charing Cross and then another train from St Pancras or Kings Cross or whatever?
So umm yeah, 1 change?
Hmm... maybe you are getting onto the circle line in London and keep forgetting to get off, thus accounting for the hours of journey time?

I know this guy who fell asleep on the circle line and woke up a stop before the one he'd gotten on at. Completely messed with his brain that did.

Agree with the pessimist...gaming laptop? Crazy. Unless you LAN regularly or something, then it might be convenient instead of lugging around a heavy desktop PC with monitor, keyboard, etc.
#17
Either way even if there was a 20 hour journey how the hell would the battery hold? It would crap out after 2-3 hours gaming.
#18
laptops are much better imo.
Im a university student doing computer games technology and what if i need to do some sort of "testing" whilst im in uni?
ill want a laptop that can play games at a good frame rate and at the same time a good looking laptop to generally carry arround.
i much prefere laptops aswell, more compact and versitile, meets more consumer needs.

In terms of this deal though, you can get equal or higher spec getting a dell studio laptop for a fraction of teh price and a lovely design.

Shouldn't you students be busy partying, doing drugs, and being as left wing as possible?

Wow daily mail (daily nazi) reader just realise Hitler died 65 years ago and in a bit of a mood?
Slightly stereotypical aren’t we?
However unlike the daily mail says we don’t all do drugs, thanks and we do actually have to do work.
Guessing you vote conservative as well? or BNP?
#21
Take a fracking desktop PC to uni. Get a Shuttle-sized one if space is that much of an issue.
#22
Yet more cold voting just because people either don't understand the product or don't like it.

For the spec, it's a very good price indeed. Hot.
#23
Benchmark of the graphics card

I honestly don't know whether this is a good price for this or not - not voted!
#24
Just found what I think is the same machine for £1020.43. So this deal is cheaper, but only by about 1.5%.

well, when I was in the States, a 9hr train journey actually took 23 hours... I wasn't very pleased at the time....

A lot of trains have plug sockets for laptops and phones.

graphics could be better, lukewarm.

Whoops! Bit of an over-reaction there?
In my day we did all that stuff Villa stated and more - but importantly we did it with humour - apparently lacking these days.....
