Get the r9 280, much better card ;p

Free game bundle from Amazon. You sure? It would be a first. Amazon have never participated with the previous bundles.
#4
I'm not 100% on the free game, hence why I mention possibly. You can of course buy from the Scan link which I've also pasted which 100% has the free games. Just most people prefer Amazon Prime
#5
Pretty sure amazon aren't a participating retailer unfortunately. :(

Amazon unfortunately don't participate in this offer that's why their prices also tend to be cheaper.
#7
That's a shame. As mentioned there's still the Scan deal with is a whopping 6p cheaper and features the 2 free games
#8
Just bought this from the amazon warehouse, boxed / like new for £120 last one :D
#9
Also i failed to add 4GB on this model of card is wasted unless of course you had crossfire. Made the same mistake when i had a Sapphire 270X (Luckily sent back).

Considering the recent prices for the 280 this is not a good deal at all, and no free games either.

You can get the free games via the Scan link also included.

Actually it isn't, in fact it barely gains any FPS over the r9 270x oc. 3gb VRAM isn't needed for 1080p gaming either, regardless of what games state. Now an r9 280x is a different matter.

Not really. R9 280 is pretty close to the 280x;

Not as powerful obviously, but priced in between the 270x and 280x and performance wise pushing closer to the 280x.

I'd disagree, http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/05/19/amd-radeon-r9-280-review-feat-xfx/4

I've never heard of that website you linked either, either I'm missing something or it isn't particularly reputable/great.

Inside joke, OP posted 'Get the r9 270x, much better card' on a r9 280 deal...

Bit-tech aren't the best review site either, but there are few R9-280 non-X reviews out atm.
However, Xbitlabs just compared 4GB 270X vs 280:

As expected, the R9-280 is 18-20% faster. No surprise, Tahiti is bound to be faster than Pitcairn. The only reason to get Pitcairn might be because it uses less power.

You're showing a resolution that the R9 280 is better suited for, I'm sure most people are still using 1080p and that's what I'm talking about. 3GB on the R9 280 is ofc going to pull ahead of the r9 270x in 1440p

That's not even a relevant comparison.

If you had bothered to actually go to the review, you'd have found almost the same thing for 1080P:
"The MSI Radeon R9 280 Gaming is an average 14.3-19.4% faster than the R9 280X at 1920x1080 and 18.2-20.4% faster at 2560x1440 pixels."

I like how I show you one website that supports my theory, you show me one that supports yours but then you assume you're automatically correct. Speaks volumes. Good bye.

Your ignorance of a site does not indicate its reputability.
OK here's another to add to the pile of 280 vs 270X, here's a video by LinusTechTips where they compare the R9 280X to the R9 270X, R7970 (essentially R9 280X) and R7950 (essentially R9 280)**.
They benchmark; Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider and Crysis 3 all at 1080p. They overclock all their cards, so it really highlights what the extra power of the R7950/R9 280 allows.
In their tests, the R7950/R9 280 traded blows with the much more expensive GTX 770, only 0.8fps, 1.3fps behind in 2 games and 2.6fps ahead on the third.

** Most of the R9 series are re-badged older cards.
