Seems a good deal for a cracking card. MSI is certainly one of the best brands out there at the moment.

EDIT - 10% cashback on quidco and try flubit (thanks to NorthLondonN1)

Run this through flubit and get an extra £5-10 off.
Great for small itx builds. But in terms of price, purchased my r9 280 for the same price.
#2
where did you get the r9 280 from?
#3
I know Amazon had the 280 quite cheap at one point.
#4
can the r9 280 handle 4k (i.e is it future proof)?

4k at what frame rate and what game?

The answer will vary as there's many scenarios. Get the best you can afford

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html - 7970 is better than R9 280

I have this card I think it's likely to be a good mid range card that lasts the entire generation, it performs well in everything that has been released so far, medium / high settings at 900p or 1080p for most new 3D games.

Nothing is future proof.

Cards are moving fast so they lose value fairly quickly. Buy the card to be used NOW rather than basing it on a load of hypothetical situations. If you aren't buying a 4K monitor yet, don't buy a 4K card.

Obviously if the 280 would be fully used by whatever you play now, then its a good purchase!

what do you play? and at what resolution?

ive got an R9 270 OC (presumably slower than 270X) and far cry 3 runs very happily on max settings! i dont play much demanding stuff so no idea how it would fare on metro 2033 etc im afraid!
