great little thing this, the wife has one

Is this code for targeted users only or can anyone use it? I only ask as I was sent a code last week which was only for targeted users.

Thanks in advance for any clarification on this.

When I signed into myebay the code was at the bottom of the page, plus when I was looking at the prices of the netbooks it had "How much it could cost" or something like that by the price. It doesn't have it now when I look at it, but i'm assuming that's because you can only use the code once.

Code is only for you though - will not apply to anyone else - unless they have had the code sent to them:oops:

Not voted either way. Would've voted hot except for the amount of issues that people from here experienced the last time this was posted at a slightly higher price a few weeks ago:

People having OS in wrong language and unable to change, people with files left on, broken trackpads etc. :x

Seems to be pot-luck if you get a good one or a lemon. Be careful :?

Seriously thinking about this

Ive posted a wanted in in the sale/trade section, for a little more (I have that 10% code) I can get one with a years warranty, and possibly mint condition (But also possibly poor condition)

Hmmm

Sent to you from where? So the code you posted is use once...
#15
yeah the feedback on ebay for argos outlet is terrible
#16
Great ebay shop, used them to buy a car stereo and a laptop before. My colleague just received an MSI laptop from them today (Monday) which he ordered on Thursday too.

They're on the end of the phone if you need anything, turned out my laptop was a better spec than listed too. And at the time it said call Mon-Fri but I called on the Saturday and got through to them no problem.

Seems to be limited users that this code applies to, unless I'm looking in the wrong place on "my ebay"...

Personally anything in software wouldn't bother me as I would just install Ubuntu on it anyway. Broken hardware however, not so good.

Great deal - thanks so much for posting this! At this price with the code I finally couldn't resist.

never realised she had hips like that, sheeeeiiiit.
#21
Would have bought one if the code worked, not quite worth it for me without the discount though! Ah well...
#22
Try instore at least you can inspect before purchase, not sure prices are the same as on Ebay
#23
The code is specific to CERTAIN ebay users that have been sent it, they have been sending two to me every month since February I think.
The netbook looks good, especially if you will be putting Ubuntu on it but I am gonna get my Dell Mini tomorrow from the Dell outlet store and it has a 6 cell battery so hopefully I will get 6 hours out of it. Ipaid a little more for it but its black and is a better spec so I'm happy.
Still a cracking deal without the 10% code if you wanna get the missus a pink netbook! ;)
#24
Code doesn't work - Pink U100 coming in at £144 delivered for me.

Some researchers have found that the waist-hip ratio (WHR) is a significant measure of female attractiveness. Women with a 0.7 WHR are usually rated as more attractive by men from European cultures.[13] Beauty icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren have or had ratios close to 0.7, even though they have different weights and heights. In other cultures, preferences appear to vary according to some studies,[14] ranging from 0.6 in China,[15] to 0.8 or 0.9 in parts of South America and Africa,[16][17][18] and divergent preferences based on ethnicity, rather than nationality, have also been noted.

Anyway getting back to this deal lol, tempting price but the customer service side of things really puts me off, had a few refurb'd netbooks before and you need the customer service to back you up when stuff like ram, hard drive, screen etc goes faulty. If I bought one of these then I'd be testing the ram, hard drive, and doing a full burn in test just to make sure the hardware was up to scratch.

£199 in store at Argos.

I use ebay regularly but have never received a code of this sort...what's the deal?
#27
ive been getting the codes for a while with a link to the listings they apply. Exact same code was sent to me the other day and this deal is in that listing

don`t know why I get them though

Good laptop until my screen got cracked when i lifited it up then the speekers blew up. Argos wouldn't give me a refund. Not supprised there is a lot of refurbs!
#29
If it wasn't for the colour, I'd get one. The U100 with Windows XP is MUCH better than the U130 with Windows 7 starter!

PS. How on earth can a screen crack when lifting the netbook? Weird.
#30
I ask this in all honesty, but why do not people like the white?

How do you work that one out.

The U130 has a newer more powerful processor and has wireless N as standard. Both of those are plus points.
#32
ordered pink one :)
#33
You cant hackintosh the u130....

Service is horrendous from them I am on my second one, ordered black - they sent pink. Took 3 weeks to get replacement. Its dirty, tatty, one of the rubber feet is missing off the bottom and it has a Toshiba not msi power pack.

Most people on the original thread got either the wrong colour or dirty / faulty netbooks.

THey sell unrefurbished customer returns so you can get anything keep this in mind !

Bkz W7 starter is a rip off. XP is a more versatile system comparing to W7 starter edition.
#35
Win7 Starter can easily be upgraded cant it?

Via product key or the such like?
#36
I got a U130 referb for about the same price. Came as good as new, the box was a teeny bit tatty was all.
Windows 7 starter is a bit rubish & you'll probably be wanting to upgrade the battery soon which'll set you back about £30 on fleabay. Other than that I love it, great bit of kit.
#37
At what stage in the purchase process do you input the code ?

Thanks
#38
personally I found nothing wrong with windows 7 starter,my U130 is for surfing the net which is what I use it for.It can run all my apps that I want and I certainly haven't got any plans to upgrade it.

My desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate does everything else.

My U130 had managers special on the box when I received it and was in perfect unmarked condition, mabee I was just lucky but it came with a full 12 months warranty so I'm not really fussed.

I would defiantly recommend a battery upgrade though, only lasts a couple of hours.
#39
The voucher code appears by the buy it now. It tells you what price you can buy it at? Purchased the U130 as its got better specs and i can put xp on it if windows 7 does not live up to my expectations.

Cousin purchased U100, arrived with faulty screen, got replacement within a week and its the upgraded U130.

I got the U130. Arrived absolutely pristine - although the packaging was a bit scabby.

A great little machine. Stuck an extra gig of RAM in for under a tenner and added CoreAVC for flawless playback of HD mkv's. Got my WM Phone fixed up as my own portable Wifi Hotspot. A perfect machuine for travelling.

Another advantage of the U130 over U100 is it has Synaptics touchpad as opposed to Sentelic which makes scrolling pages easier and has features like momentum.
