Good for the missus. Anyone know what battery this has? (3 or 6 cell)

Cheers
#3
nice price shame bout the colour

My daughter has had this laptop for nearly 2 years! Brilliant laptop, battery still holding out for around an hour.At this price i would snap it up!

My daughter next present X)
#6
Great price
#7
For comparison, I've had a Asus eee for 2 years and that battery still lasts for 5 hours continuous use.

I bought a black refurb MSI U130 (pretty similar to the U135 I'm sure) from Argos Clearance and while it arrived promptly it also arrived with pressure damage to the screen. That said, I contacted the D & J Hughes (the people who provided the after-sales support on it) and they arranged a pickup for it the following day and whisked it off for a free repair. It returned a few days later with a new screen basically looking good as new. I've not had a problem with it since (this was last April) and am typing this on it now.

And in answer to one of the other comments, this model came with the smaller 3-cell battery and I'd assume the pink U135 does too.

Wouldn't this be windows 7, not xp?
#10
great price, decent enough performance, but the build quality is awful, owned one for the past 12 months and don't think it will last much longer!
#11
Mine has Windows 7 Starter edition but my flatmate has a similar netbook with XP so it's probably that.

Have to say my kids are 5 and nearly 7 and it has been abused quite a bit, dropped, banged etc... and nearly 2 years on never a problem. Its only really used for internet and probably the games and MSI extra's which are on it but still! Its also XP you can get the newer one's with Win7

Impulse buy alert! Oh well... Thanks OP. As for the pink colour, I'll let a laptop skin/sticker/thang take care of that.

Wish I'd seen the comment about build quality prior to buying, however I'll just be extra-especially careful.

Ordered for my Mum's 70th birthday present.

Damn good deal.

Even better that it has WinXP, rather than crappy Windows 7 starter.

Unfortunately I already have two Acer Aspire Ones so can't really justify a 3rd netbook ><

Incidentally this model comes with 1GB sodimm pre-installed which can be easily replaced with a suitable 2GB sodimm.

Me too! I bought the mrs one last time around, it's lasted fine and is a great machine.
Quite snappy, too.
Easy to add another 1G ram for a tenner.
#28
How well with this run skype (with video)?
#29
cheers!

Heat added.
Argos outlet usually very quick to deliver in my experience in response to question.
DJ Henry (Argos other party dealing with the computer side of things) will also pick up for no extra postage) if you should encounter any problems.
I wonder how 'refurbished' these are at this price. I notice that they have the exact same model also available at £187.49 plus postage. I've had a couple of refurb notebooks from them. The first was noticeably used and had a problem with battery so it went back and I got a refund. The second one I ordered looked like new and I have kept. At this price they may have more noticeable use. But bargain price so can't really complain!

Agreed. I bought one of these for my wife last year and the creak, flex and iffy wifi (sometimes it "loses" the fact it even has a wifi card in it and requires an uninstall and reinstall of the driver) aren't a patch on my ASUS EEE 901. Build quality isn't great. Good price though, the only other thing you can get at that price is the ASUS 701, which has a 7inch screen and linux.
