It's sometimes possible to pick refurbished ones at this price, but this is new.

Not the fastest machine of course with an Intel Atom dual core N2600 processor (scores 538 points on CPU benchmark) and only 1GB RAM, but it's a rock bottom price at £99.99 + £3.95 P&P.

Not voting as the wife has one. Decent price but seems slower than the old u135 it replaced. Have even chucked the extra gig of ram in and it's still v slow. Struggles sending emails. Constantly on not responding. Should be better than this.

It's a decent deal... but the N2600 is extremely underpowered. Even for basic tasks like web browsing, you'll be waiting around.

I got one of these 3 months ago for £113. Once you get rid of Norton and a few other programmes it performs better.
I still have 1gb in mine and it is painfully slow at start up but that's mainly because I have Kaspersky which updates then.
Once every thing's loaded/updated you can still only do one thing at a time otherwise it grinds to a halt. No problem watching live footy/cricket but I'm gonna' get a 2gb stick soon to hopefully get a faster start up and to try and have two pages open at the same time!

anyone know if ebay items can be returned to rhe high street shop for refunds/replacments ect,,, ?

I have one of these, I bought it as refurbished from Argos.

1gb of RAM is not enough for this netbook so I have and would highly recommend upgrading the RAM to 2gb as when Windows 7 is starting up it uses 65% of my 2gb memory.

Dell venue or toshiba encore much better value imo.

Also MS reckon there will be a load of £99 windows tablets coming soon.

Laptops can only be returned to the repair/refurbishment company (adress inside the box) but Argos will pay for courier if you ring them.

Dell venue on offer for 311£, toshiba encore is ~200£, both without keyboard. I don't see how this is comparable.

Honestly tablets are rather pointless devices that only managed to survive off the Apple-hype. I bought one a year ago - and still barely use it at all. My smartphone is more practical for reading news etc. on the go. If I want to type sth. I cannot do it on a tablet (painfully slow!). Tablets are glorified picture frames, they are only good for watching videos and pictures.

Netbooks are great IF they have a good keyboard. I can only laugh at people that buy netbooks or laptops solely based on specs! You have to feel and type on it to understand it!

My very dated (4 y.o.) Asus EEE PC is fine for browsing and runs decently well with 2GB RAM. No (HD) videos, though - but I'm sure the newer gen has better video decoders and can deal with youtube etc.
